Happy Thursday! We hope you all are having a wonderful day so far. Did you know…that today is World Nutella Day? Yup, it’s an official day dedicated to the incredibly delicious (and highly addictive!) chocolate, hazelnut spread that is amazing with pretty much anything (or on it’s own. Spoonfuls? We’re not judging haha!).

Time for our Thankful Thursday! Today we are featuring one of our favorite magazines, Craft Ideas. Their latest Winter 2014 edition was also the big reveal of their new look. Everything got revamped and updated, and it looks fantastic!!  Complete with a new logo, the updated magazine now features a “New Products” section (a breakdown of the latest craft tools and materials), Book Reviews, a “Green Ideas” section (listings for eco-friendly products and companies), and highlights up-and-coming designers. As well, Craft Ideas will now be releasing a new printed issue every second month! We were always a fan of Craft Ideas, and were so excited that they were taking on this new venture.

Flipping through the Winter 2014 issue, you might recognize some familiar projects. Craft Ideas featured two of our free projects in their magazine. The first is our Cascading Chevrons Pillow, one of our favorites! You can find the free pattern on our website too. As well, they featured our Border Blast Quilt by one of our wonderful pattern designers, Larene Smith of The Quilted Button.

We love working with Craft Ideas Magazine and are so happy they love our projects. And, it’s also so fun seeing our projects featured in print! Happy Tuesday! We hope you are all having a great day – it’s National Pastry Day…which means we should probably get ourselves some yummy treats. I mean, it’s a national holiday…so we have to, right? ;) We’ll take an apple and cheese turnover, with extra whipped cream please!

Time for this week’s How To’s Day! Today we are featuring a super stylish tutorial for our Twin Pillows. Changing up your pillows, whether it be your couch or bed pillows, are one of the easiest and least expensive ways to add some new flair to a space. We love rotating pillows for the different seasons and holidays, as it gives us a fun opportunity to decorate often, while being budget-friendly. Making your own pillows also allows you to choose the designs and colors you want so that the decor you’ve envisioned can come to life…

We adore our Twin Pillows Tutorial because they are unique, modern, and you create (for those who like quicker projects) two pillows from one tutorial. We also provide two different versions in the tutorial, so you can mix it up and have an array of beautiful pillows for your home! We love it with our Opposites Attract by Jackie McFee collection, because the white and black prints can be incorporated into just about any decor.

It’s supposed to be raining tomorrow, but that is not stopping us from taking this last opportunity for apple and pumpkin picking, before the season is officially over. So excited!! Time to end another great week with our Fan Friday!! Today we are featuring Pillow Loft Home Decor who creates fabulous pillows and home decor accessories for all your interior decorating needs! From bolster pillows to decorative pillows to curtain valances, they’ve got everything you need to make any space super stylish. Cheryl Britton is the owner and creative mind behind Pillow Loft Home Decor, a business idea that sparked from a young age. Cheryl would sell her handmade potholders door-to-door as an elementary school girl, and her love for creating things only sparked as an adult. Together with a business background and a passion for creating, she decided to start her Etsy Shop. She had already been making her own valances and pillows for her own home, so it was a perfect avenue for her to start something new. Cheryl loves all types of fabric styles, from nature-inspired prints to florals to more contemporary patterns. And to top it all off, one of her pillows has been featured in Good Housekeeping!!

Cheryl chose our Design Studio Collection for her Bolster Pillow, and it looks amazing. The wonderful grey and yellow chevrons design would be a perfect accent pillow for any neutral living room or bedroom space – a subdued way for some color pop! All of her creations are of amazing handmade quality and this pillow is no exception. We love that the pillow insert is included with it too, so no need for searching for a “right fit”.

Happy Tuesday!! We hope everyone is having a lovely day so far. It’s been a mix of weather these past couple of days – rain and sunshine periodically throughout the day – so it’s been a little difficult figuring out how to dress in the morning. That’s Fall weather for you, haha. Also if you haven’t entered our Felt Giveaway yet, be sure to enter here. It’s the last day, and we have been excitedly reading all your creative answers! :)

It’s time for this week’s How To’s Day! With the rush of Quilt Market, we have been busy with sewing up new and fun projects for our booth…and we cannot wait to share them with you all!! Today we have decided to feature one of our past tutorials, but in a different collection. Our Easy Pillow Slip tutorial has been previously shown here on the blog, with our Take Flight Collection. We loved the idea of an aviator-themed bedroom for a little pilot-in-training, complete with pillowcases decorated with planes, helicopters, and other fun flight gadgets.

Another kid-friendly collection, also from our wonderful Vita Mechachonis, is our Playground collection. Playground is, as the name suggests, all about having fun at your favorite outdoor jungle gym or park area. Filled with nostalgic playground rides, whimsical numbers, and fun coordinating prints in soft blue, tan, and orange hues…this collection reminds us of the carefree days spent playing outside with our school friends. Our Playground pillowcases are so easy to make, and are a unique way to add a bit of spunk to any little nugget’s bed.

It’s also time for this week’s Thankful Thursday! Today we are featuring a wonderful and delectable craft magazine, Craft Ideas! We are such huge fans of Craft Ideas Magazine, not just for their incredible content, but also the people are the sweetest. We want to take a moment to thank Annie Niemic for being such a lovely person to work with and get to know! We have featured Craft Ideas on the blog previously, which you can check out here, but there can never be too much praise for this magazine. We love this magazine for its creative crafts, from beading to sewing to crocheting and everything else in between!

Yes, it’s still Summer but it’s never too early to start thinking about Fall and Winter decor ideas (am I right? haha!). We absolutely adore Craft Ideas’ Autumn-inspired magazine, which is giving us so many fabulous ideas for upcoming crafts for the fall season. It’s so lovely to flip through the vibrant pages and see all the warm autumn hues! There’s even a Halloween section (we are big fans of Halloween in the Camelot Design Studio…dressing up = the best thing ever!), and are excited to make the mini dracula ornaments – too cute!! If you continue to flip through the magazine, you’ll find two of our projects – our Herringbone Quilt by Christa Quilts (p.72) and our Roonie the Raccoon Pillow (p.68)!
