This week we have been sharing our newest collections for Winter 2016, and today is day 2 of launch week. First up is our gorgeous Lavishmint Collection by Jack!e McFee for Camelot Fabrics. Lavishmint is a dreamy and delicious collection of two of our favorite hues – lavender and mint. These two beautiful pastels complement one another, with a touch of grey, to create a soft and delicate collection. A flirty frock in a lavender and mint print, with a bit of lace trim, would make the perfect dress for afternoon tea!

Our Herringbone Quilt looks extra soft and cozy in Lavishmint, and would make for the perfect companion for a night-in reading your favorite novel. And then head out for a picnic with friends (or your favorite person!) with a floral, lavender Insulated Lunch Hamper.

Happy Thursday! We hope everyone’s day is going well so far; it’s been pretty gloomy and rainy here. I guess it’s safe to say that Fall is officially upon us…here’s to apple picking, hayrides, and everything PUMPKIN!

It’s time for this week’s Thankful Thursday! Today on the blog, we are featuring a fantastic online fabric shop that is truly dedicated & inspired by all things fabric…Hawthorne Threads! Hawthorne Threads is not only an amazing place to search for your favorite fabrics online, but it is also a source for inspiration and creative influence. Hawthorne Threads is run by a husband and wife duo, Charlie and Lindsay, who are elementary school sweethearts now married with two toddlers. That truly is the epitome of true love and soul mates.

It all started 6 years ago when Lindsay opened a small Etsy Shop dedicated to selling fabric and her handmade gems. From there, her shop quickly grew into a successful business where Hawthorne Threads was officially born. Charlie joined the team to develop and maintain the official website, as a software designer by trade. Now, Hawthorne Threads has become a favorite place for many to find fresh and modern fabric collections! Charlie and Lindsay do so much more than run an online fabric shop – they showcase the fabrics in unique and fun theme-centric ways in their photoshoots and moodboards. Their slogan truly embodies their shop and who they are – “brought to you by two love birds who love fabric” – and that love is truly shown in their work.

We are so thrilled that Hawthorne Threads loves Camelot Fabrics! We absolutely adore the featured moodboards on their website and Facebook, showcasing our fabric collections in such awesome ways. We love how they style each fabric collection accordingly, adding to the overall feel of the specific designs. As well, with each fabric collection, they showcase our corresponding projects & quilt patterns from our Free Projects Program. Here are some of our current favorites…

Happy Tuesday! We hope everyone had a wonderful and restful long weekend. It was the perfect couple of days of beautiful weather and relaxation, the best way to start off September. We still can’t believe that we’re already into September, but excited for everything to come.

Starting off September with an awesome How To’s Day! There are still a few weeks left of Summer, so this week’s How To’s Day is perfect for soaking up those last couple of days of warm weather and greenery. Today we are featuring our Insulated Lunch Hamper Tutorial on the blog, a stylish and practical bag that would be fantastic for a last Summer picnic or beach day. But even as fall and winter rolls around, our Insulated Lunch Hamper can be used to keep all your hot food and drinks warm. Here’s to fun days in the snow, followed by delicious hot cocoa!

Our Insulated Lunch Hamper is insulated with our Spacetex, so it’s great for storing both hot and cold items. As well, the nylon is water-resistant so you can easily wipe away any condensation with a cloth. There are also three inner compartments, so there’s extra storage to organize your goodies. We used our Mint Condition by Jackie McFee Collection, which we think looks super pretty and fresh with the crisp mint and grey designs. Happy Tuesday!! We hope you are having a terrific day so far. We cannot believe that we are already into August – we are still hanging onto Summer, and excited to soak up the last bits of sunshine before fall rolls around.

Time for our weekly How To’s Day!! Today we are going to share with you a simple, but very pretty, Double-Sided Headband Tutorial – perfect for adding that extra oomph to any outfit! Our Double-Sided Headband will be your go-to accessory because, with different patterns on either side, you can easily switch up your look from day to night! We love trying out new styles, so this headband is a great way to play around with new colors and patterns. As well, there are so many ways to style a headband – hair down in loose waves or straight, in a topknot, high pony, or side braid…the possibilities are endless!

We also love the idea of creating a bow with the ends for a fun & flirty look, or you can leave the ends in a simple knot. We’d love to know what your favorite way to wear a headband is! We used some of our favorite cotton collections for our Double-Sided Headband, which we found helped the headband stay in place, as opposed to anything too silky. As well, the contoured shape of the headband allows for it to easily shape around your head, and can be tied with ease.

We used our Nightfall and Mint Condition collections for two playful looks. Our Double-Sided Headband is such a fun and straightforward tutorial that we’re sure you’ll be wanting to make one in every color and design combination possible. It’s also time for this week’s How To’s Day! We absolutely adore Burda Style, and are often found perusing on their website and magazines for sewing and style inspiration. They have a ton of creative and beautiful content each issue, there’s always something new, and we’re always inspired! As well, their patterns are always on-trend and such an ease to work with. They have a fantastic webisode dedicated to sharing sewing tips & tricks, as well as fun project tutorials for everyone. They have an online forum and gallery where fellow sewing enthusiasts can post their newest creations, either using a Burda Style tutorial or one that they made themselves…such a great place to share!
