It’s time for our Thankful Thursday! Today we are featuring one of our fantastically talented quilt designers, Marta of From Marta With Love! Marta has always been a sewing enthusiast, but she found her true passion with quilting in 2010. A friend had shown her how to piece a quilt block, and from there, she began reading books and blogs on quilting…and found her quilting calling! From there, she started quilting more and created her blog, From Marta With Love, as a way to document her sewing adventures. Her blog is dedicated to both quilts and crafts, and she shares sewing tutorials for quilts and bags, patterns, giveaways, and more. From Marta With Love is bright, colorful, creative, and fresh…and that’s what attracted us to the blog!

We had the pleasure of working with Marta on a quilt design for our Free Projects Program! We loved Marta’s modern design esthetic and knew she would be a wonderful addition to our pattern designers family. Marta created her Chevrons Arrow Quilt for us, and boy is it a stunner!! We absolutely love the perpendicular alignment of the chevrons in this quilt design, and the cleanness of the rest of the space. Marta used our Singin’ the Blues by Jackie McFee Collection from our Spring 2014 lines, with our Au Natural Fresh Solid, and it is soso beautiful. We want to thank Marta for creating a gorgeous quilt design for us. We absolutely loved working with you, and hope to continue a wonderful partnership in the future. Hi everyone!

Happy Tuesday! We hope everyone is having a fantastic day so far. It isn’t the greatest of weather here today, but gosh is it hot and humid!! It’s days like these where all we want to do is stay indoors with the good ol’ AC :)

To liven things up a little bit here, we have our How To’s Day for you! With Summer officially here, that definitely means enduring in more outdoor activities…especially all things water-related! So excited for Summer days of swimming at the lake, catching up on a good book at the beach, and maybe even having a jet-ski adventure (…depending on how brave we’re feeling that day haha!). We always love a little nautical for the Summer, especially in fashion and décor. Who wouldn’t want to wear a navy and white striped dress and big floppy hat while cruising on the lake in a boat? Um, where do we sign up? :) But if you aren’t planning an adventure of the sorts this Summer either, have no fear…today’s How To’s Day is bringing the water to you!

Today we are sharing our tutorial on our Anchor Pillow, featuring our In The Navy by Jackie McFee Collection. And these two couldn’t be more fitting; our In The Navy collection features anchors, stripes, and dots in a fun navy, pink, and metallic gold color combination! We love the idea of a nautical-inspired guest bedroom or family room – add some decorative shells, some wood paneling, and a couple of our Anchor pillows on a striped couch…and you are all ready to set sail (…or at least it will feel that way haha!). Finish off the look for a nautical-inspired quilt, or two.

Happy Friday!! It’s officially Summer tomorrow, and we are oh-so excited!! Have you seen our What We Love post yesterday? The Camelot Design Studio shared our weekly loves with you! You can check out the post here :)

It’s also time to end another great week with our Fan Friday! Today we’ve got one that is inspiring us to do some summer baking this weekend. Ruth Davis of Quilt ‘n’ Fabric shared with us two absolutely beautiful aprons created with our Gray Matters More by Jackie McFee collection…and we just had to share! Quilt ‘n’ Fabric is a quilt shop located in Maine dedicated to handmade quilts, fabrics, yarn, and other sewing, knitting, crocheting, & scrap-booking supplies. As well, sewing classes and patterns are offered!

These two GMM apron designs feature a retro-style halter, a big bow waist-tie, and a ruffled bottom…all of our favorite things!! The yellow and gray color combination works perfectly for a fresh and contemporary-looking apron, perfect for the stylish baking- or cooking-enthusiast. We absolutely adore them, and they make us want to cook up something yummy in the kitchen now!! :)

Thank you so much, Ruth, for sharing these two gorgeous aprons with us. The bows, ruffles, and brilliant colors have made our day! It’s time to start off this week with our Moody Monday! Today we are inspiring you with our Singin’ the Blues by Jackie McFee Collection!! Singin’ the Blues, as the name suggests, is a spectacular collection encompassing different shades of blue. The vibrant mix of cobalt blue, topaz, and mint colors reminds us of the ocean…we could definitely imagine a beach vacation somewhere near the Mediterranean Sea with these blue hues, and the stunning chevron, dot, medallion, and lattice designs. But if you can’t whisk yourself away to a beach vacation right now, you can create that same feel with a Mediterranean-inspired room. Imagine ocean-inspired curtains, elegant chevron pillows, and a matching modern, blue-hued quilt! Who really needs a getaway now…right? :) See the full collection here!

We love getting inspired by the runway trends for the upcoming season! One show that particularly is reminiscent of our Singin’ the Blues Collection is that of Chloe‘s Spring RTW line. The whole Chloe collection reminds us of a tropical, Mediterranean vacation…and the essentials you’d want to pack! Think loose, but still sleek, silhouettes in earthy tones, white, and blues in beautiful draping and flowy materials. So so pretty!

We especially adore this one here, as well as this one, which reminds us of Singin’ the Blues in both color palette and design. You can check out the full Chloe RTW Spring 2014 collection here!
