Hi everyone,

Happy Tuesday!! We hope everyone is having a wonderful day. Today is definitely the perfect day for a pumpkin spice latte and cuddling up in a thick, warm quilt. Whether we want it to come or not, Fall will be upon us in officially one week.

We have been excitedly getting prepared for Fall Quilt Market with our projects and other goodies, and can’t wait to share them with you all. For this week’s How To’s Day, we wanted to share with you one of our past, in-house free projects that so many of you enjoyed. Our Simple Stripes Baby Blanket is an easy patchwork blanket, that mimics the look of a quilt (without the need for advanced quilting skills). It’s adorable, cozy, and the perfect size to wrap your little nugget in. We had previously shared our tutorial on our blog with our Playground by Vita Mechachonis collection, with the subdued blue and tan hues making our baby blanket soothing and comforting.

We decided to create a fun version of our baby blanket with our Girl Power II collection – the bright colors make this blanket POP! As well, our Girl Power II collection makes it awesome for any little superheroine-in-training with the Wonder Woman, Batgirl, and Supergirl designs decorating the blanket. We love the idea of your little superheroine snuggled up in her favorite blanket, dreaming to her heart’s content on all the *super* things she wants to do, whether it be playing all day in the yard or having a tea party with all her favorite companions. And we know, all our Girl Power fellow enthusiasts will be loving this blanket just as much (if not, more!) than she does…

As mentioned, we had featured our Simple Stripes Baby Blanket as a DIY project on the blog, which you can find here. As well, we have a PDF version on our website that can be easily printed out for you to create. You can find it here, as well as our Free Projects Program.

We really hope you love our Simple Stripes Baby Blanket as much as we do! We’d love to know your thoughts. And if you get the chance to make your own version, we’d love to see. You can always send your project pictures to us at info@camelotfabrics.com or tag us on Instagram. Have a fantastic day, everyone!

Hi everyone,

Happy Monday!! We hope everyone had a fantastic weekend. It was definitely nippy here, and it seems like it’s only going to get chillier. It’s definitely sweater weather now, and we’re excited for all the plaid, knits, and thick scarves to come! We love fall fashion! :)

It’s time to start off the week with our Moody Monday! Today we are showcasing a bold and playful print from our What’s Cookin by Allison Cole collection. The red floral print from What’s Cookin’ makes for a very kitschy and modern feel, and this floral pattern would be beautiful to decorate any upscale but feminine kitchen, or as a full skirt of tea dress! We love the idea of this whimsical, dark red floral print for accessories – a pretty clutch, a makeup bag, or even a festive tie would look awesome in this pattern. Such a wonderful print, part of our beautiful What’s Cookin’ collection (which you see all of here!).

New York Fashion Week has ended, but has left us with so much inspiration…pretty outfits to gawk over. It’s been so much fun getting to check out the collections for trend inspiration for the upcoming seasons. One collection that especially sparked our interest was that of Anna Sui’s Spring 2015 RTW Collection. The warm hues of charcoal, burgundy, and navy in this collection are cozy and comforting, making this collection very romantic and bursting with femininity. Of course, the reds caught our eye – and this outfit definitely is reminiscent of our What’s Cookin’ Collection – and this print in particular. You can check out the full collection from Anna Sui here! We hope you enjoyed this week’s Moody Monday; have a good day, everyone! :)

Hi everyone,

Happy Friday everyone!! TGIF!! We hope everyone is having a fantastic end of the week; will anyone be working on any fun projects this weekend? If you need any inspiration, feel free to browse our DIYs…we’re sure you will find some inspiration and something you like :)

For today’s Fan Friday we are featuring a wonderful Etsy Shop, Not Without Annette, run by the lovely Annette. By day, Annette works for a large utility company in the IT department, but one of her passions lies in fabric and sewing. Annette has been crafting for almost all her life – she learned to crochet at the age of 8 by watching her babysitter. She also enjoys knitting, needlepoint, counted cross-stitch, and apparel sewing, but her true calling is quilting. She is a self-taught quilter, watching and following Fons & Porter, Eleanor Burns, and Alex Anderson as inspirations.

Her Etsy Shop started from those around her telling her “Oh, you should sell those!” in regards to her handmade gifts over the years. Annette now sells really fun and unique, all-handmade and mostly “Made in America” items such as her Cupcake Purse, Crayon Tote, Book Bags, and Tissue Cozies. She is a devoted animal lover, with 100% of the proceeds from her tissue cozies are donated to various animal charities in the US (DASH, the local animal shelter, HALO, the Blind Cat Sanctuary, and others). As of 6/15/2014, over $1,350 has gone to these organizations. Annette loves whimsical and cartoon fabric prints, and loves Camelot Fabrics! She has chosen our Girl Power Collection for her Crayon Tote, our Star Trek Collection for one of her Tissue Cozies, amongst some other of our fabric collections!

It’s time for What We Love #15 ♥ This week, we’re trying to brighten things up a bit here with COLOR! As we are approaching fall weather, it does not mean that we should neglect all the pretty colors. The latest issue of Uppercase Magazine is all about color – each section inspired by and representing different shades of the rainbow. It’s such a beautiful source of creative energy to flip through. Carrying on with even more brightness, we love the idea of turning something ordinary into something extraordinary. For example: creating fruit out of balloons, freezing edible flowers into popsicles, adding a punch of color to a phone, and cool art encompassing everyday surroundings. We think it’s amazing how something so basic can become even more beautiful, with small changes; there’s something truly remarkable about that…

TIME…so you’ll always find something new from us. As well, we hope we can inspire you to find the extraordinary in the ordinary. Have a good one! ♥

Hi everyone,

Happy Thursday! We hope everyone’s day is going well so far; it’s been pretty gloomy and rainy here. I guess it’s safe to say that Fall is officially upon us…here’s to apple picking, hayrides, and everything PUMPKIN!

It’s time for this week’s Thankful Thursday! Today on the blog, we are featuring a fantastic online fabric shop that is truly dedicated & inspired by all things fabric…Hawthorne Threads! Hawthorne Threads is not only an amazing place to search for your favorite fabrics online, but it is also a source for inspiration and creative influence. Hawthorne Threads is run by a husband and wife duo, Charlie and Lindsay, who are elementary school sweethearts now married with two toddlers. That truly is the epitome of true love and soul mates.

It all started 6 years ago when Lindsay opened a small Etsy Shop dedicated to selling fabric and her handmade gems. From there, her shop quickly grew into a successful business where Hawthorne Threads was officially born. Charlie joined the team to develop and maintain the official website, as a software designer by trade. Now, Hawthorne Threads has become a favorite place for many to find fresh and modern fabric collections! Charlie and Lindsay do so much more than run an online fabric shop – they showcase the fabrics in unique and fun theme-centric ways in their photoshoots and moodboards. Their slogan truly embodies their shop and who they are – “brought to you by two love birds who love fabric” – and that love is truly shown in their work.

We are so thrilled that Hawthorne Threads loves Camelot Fabrics! We absolutely adore the featured moodboards on their website and Facebook, showcasing our fabric collections in such awesome ways. We love how they style each fabric collection accordingly, adding to the overall feel of the specific designs. As well, with each fabric collection, they showcase our corresponding projects & quilt patterns from our Free Projects Program. Here are some of our current favorites…
