It’s time for this week’s What We Love! We (The Camelot Design Studio AKA The CDS) have been posting the things that we love most on our Pinterest Board, so be sure to see all of our current loves there. This week, we have been intrigued by unique artwork and places that inspire us to be creative in our everyday lives.

We are so mesmerized by fantastical minds who are able to create something so beautiful or innovative from a simple idea. They motivate us to think outside of the box too. Whether it be pretty embroidery, chocolate LEGO pieces, or incredible street art, this week we are inspired by these creative minds to do something out of the ordinary…because it may lead to the extraordinary too, we just need to try. Onto what we loved most this week…  ♥

Hi everyone,

Happy Thursday! We hope you are having a wonderful day so far. We are excited because today means that it’s one day closer to the weekend – YAY!! :) If you haven’t seen our latest How To’s Day, we shared our adorable, new Teeny Tiny Play Set project by Tie Dye Diva Patterns. You can find the full tutorial, with patterns, HERE and HERE!

It’s time for this week’s Thankful Thursday! Today we are taking the time to thank one of our wonderful project designers. This week, we are featuring Veronica Koh Eischeid of VeronicaMade. VeronicaMade is the blog created by Veronica to share her passion for all things creative, fabric-, and sewing-related. Veronica graduated with a degree in journalism and a double minor is Spanish & design, and was an editor for the Better Homes & Gardens Creative Collection for 3 years! Along the way, she has continued to pursue her love for crafting – sewing, quilting, making jewelry, paper crafting, hand lettering, knitting, crocheting, cooking, and more. As well, she started an Etsy Shop to share her little handmade trinkets. On her blog, VeronicaMade, Veronica shares her latest creations, unique tutorials, and as well as some more personal ventures.

We had the pleasure of partnering with Veronica on a quilted project for our Free Projects Program! Veronica created a wonderful quilted pillow design called the Modern Cross Pillow with our Birds of a Feather Collection and we absolutely adore the modern and simplistic look of this pillow. The main pattern is a floral cross made up of equilateral triangles to give a fun, pinwheel effect to the design. We love how this pillow looks with our floral-infused Birds of a Feather Collection, but can imagine this pillow with our Fresh Solids or any of our other collections. Add this stunning accent pillow to your sofa or bed to add some freshness to your decor!

Hi everyone,

Happy Wednesday! We hope everyone is having a better weather day than we are – it’s cold, dreary, and rainy today…complete 180 from our sunny and hot weekend. Let’s hope Summer is here to stay for a little while longer! :) PS: Have you seen our latest How To’s Day? Yesterday, we shared our adorable Teeny Tiny Play Set by Tie Dye Diva. To cheer us all up, today we are announcing the winner to last week’s Frolicking Forest Giveaway! WOW – We wanted to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who entered. We were so wonderfully surprised by the positive response to our Frolicking Forest collection; we are so happy that you all love it as much as we do. We had so much fun reading all of your delectable comments – YUM!! You made us so hungry in the Camelot Design Studio (haha). There are some desserts we have never heard of until now, we are definitely going to be trying out those recipes soon! Needless to say, I think this has been one of the BEST questions we’ve ever asked LOL.

Because there were so many yummy replies, we decided to choose this Winsday’s winner at random. Thanks again, Mr. Random.org! And now, the winner of our Frolicking Forest Giveaway is…

Hi everyone!

Happy Tuesday! We hope everyone is having a wonderful day so far. It’s the last day to enter our Frolicking Forest Giveaway on our Facebook Page. Be sure to enter HERE if you haven’t yet.

It’s time for our weekly How To’s Day!! Today we are sharing another one of our fantastic project collaborations with you. Jennifer Hagedorn from Tie Dye Diva Patterns created the most adorable Tunic Dress and Bloomers Play Set for us, for our Free Projects Program, and we are launching the pattern for you today on the blog. Our Tunic and Bloomers Play Set is perfect for your little girl to play around in and be comfortable, while being absolutely adorable and girly at the same time. We absolutely love the bow and ruffle details on the tunic…and pockets? Yes, please! The bloomers are just as sweet, with the added ruching and bows – oh so cute!! We chose our Petite Plume Collection because it reminds us of Spring and Summer – we can imagine a little girl playing at the park in this play set, but then also strutting her stuff at a garden party or BBQ.

Because this tutorial includes two pieces, we thought it would be easier to split it into two posts. We are going to share the Tunic Dress Tutorial in this post, and the Bloomers Tutorial should be following suite. We are so thankful that we got the chance to work with the incredibly talented Jen from Tie Dye Diva – thank you SO much for creating the sweetest of play sets for our projects. Be sure to check out all of Jen’s other patterns.

Hi everyone!

Happy Monday! Here’s to the start of another great week – can’t believe that it’s almost mid-August. Where do the days go? We’re trying to enjoy the last bits of hot weather – swimming, going to the beach, refreshing frozen yogurt, and shopping were some of our plans this weekend. What were some of your weekend adventures? Also, in case you’ve got a case of the Monday blues, we’ve got our Frolicking Forest Giveaway for you on our Facebook Page. Be sure to head on over there to enter!

Let’s get inspired by this week’s Moody Monday! Today we are sharing our London Fog by Camelot Design Studio Collection with you. London Fog is a classic palette of warm mustard, navy, gray, and a splash of mint. Ruched, tweed, and pretty geometric patterns make this collection contemporary, yet playful. There is a rustic and cozy feel to London Fog, which reminds us of those rainy days spent indoors snuggling into a knitted blanket with a great book and some warm tea. We can imagine a beautiful shift dress or robe in our London Fog’s turquoise and navy print, a men’s tie in contemporary colours, and a modern geometric-infused quilt for a couch accent or bedspread. London Fog is one dashing and classic-feeling collection!

Even though we are still enjoying our summertime, we are starting to think about the transitional period between Summer and Autumn weather. During that time, colors will darken and become more muted. We love the idea of Fall textures and colors with a summer-appropriate outfit, such as a light blouse and a tweed skirt or a t-shirt dress and a utility vest. These simple changes can take your summer wardrobe into the Fall without completely changing your style, or disregarding your Summer items! By mixing and matching Summer and Fall pieces, you’ll get the perfect transitional outfits for Autumn weather.

The outfit below is a perfect example of that – a light, mustard-color blouse and a tweed & leather mini skirt makes this a great transition-into-Fall outfit. Add some black tights and over-the-knee boots and you’ve got yourself a Fall outfit! The patterns and colors in this outfit remind us of our London Fog Collection, and it has definitely inspired us to create our own transitional outfits using our Summer wardrobe. You can check out the full London Fog Collection here!
