Hi everyone!

Happy Thursday everyone! We hope you are having a great day – the sunshine is out, the snow is melting, and we are feeling inspired! Have you entered our Bright Now Giveaway yet? We are giving away this lovely fabric stack on our Facebook page, so be sure to enter if you haven’t yet! :)

Today is this week’s Thankful Thursday! We have gotten the opportunity to work with so many creative and inspiring people, and today we are thanking someone who is definitely those two things…and much, much more! Today we are thanking one of our quilt designers, Vanessa Fromm of Fabric Confetti.

Vanessa Fromm was an avid sewer from the beginning! As a child, she shared her love for sewing with her grandmother, started to make her own clothing in junior high & high school, and even sewed her own prom dress! How amazing!! After finishing her higher education (by getting a BFA degree in medical illustration and an MBA), she began her career as a middle school English teacher. But even so, her love for sewing remained and Vanessa started getting into quilting again, and eventually machine appliqué. She started Fabric Confetti™, a business dedicated to quilt patterns, fabric appliqué designs, and yes of course – fabric confetti!

We had the privilege of partnering with Vanessa to create an exclusive quilt design for us! Vanessa created a stunning and modern Chevron Quilt for us with our What’s Cookin’ by Allison Cole Collection. The Chevron Quilt is free to download on our website, and can be found here! :)

Vanessa has such a clean and fresh design esthetic that we adore, and fits perfectly with us at Camelot Fabrics. Thank you so much, Vanessa, for creating a wonderful quilt design for us. We are very thankful for your partnership, and are very excited for all the future endeavors to come! You can find Vanessa’s patterns (and more!) on her website, Facebook, and Twitter. Vanessa is will also be at Spring Quilt Market this year (Booth 2049) – We hope to see you there!

03 April

Hi everyone,

Happy Thursday!! We cannot believe that we are nearing the end of March already. But, with the weather also starting to get warmer here, we hope this means that signs of Spring are near! We have been super inspired by all the bright colors and fun prints we have been on Pinterest, in stores, and in magazines!

BurdaStyle‘s Spring 2014 Issue is filled with lots of style inspiration to get you ready for the warmer weather! Along with endless Spring fashion tips and tricks throughout the magazine, the BurdaStyle magazine also includes full-sized fashion sewing pattern inserts for on-trend clothing pieces that you can create, to your taste. We especially adore the fabric 101 section in the magazine that focuses on everything you need to know about fabric, from selection to care and so much more!

Another great feature in the magazine is the Fabric Trends section, showcasing trends for the current season. Our Iconic Collection is perfect for the warmer weather, as the coral and navy hues in classic prints are very nautical and mod/60s-inspired – two huge trends for this season!

We love the combination of navy and coral – very refreshing, vibrant, and happy…which is just what Spring is to us! You can check out our Iconic Collection here for all the designs. We also have a couple of free projects featuring our Iconic Collection – Our Necktie and Conversation Hearts & Banner tutorials.

We also adored seeing popups of our fabric collections, such as Sweet Pea in the background of Denise’s editor’s note and this lovely floral pattern from Baby Dino! We collaborated with BurdaStyle by sending them our fabric collections, and it’s been super fun spotting our designs in their magazine, tutorials, and in the background of their webinairs!

Be sure to check out BurdaStyle’s Spring issue – there’s a ton of sewing & fashion ideas in it; you definitely will not be disappointed! You can also check out their website for even more inspiration to get your creative juices flowing for spring. Thanks for reading this week’s Thankful Thursday – Have a good rest of the day!

Hi everyone!

Happy Thursday! And Happy First of Spring everyone!! Spring is the season of renewal, so we are excited for fresh starts and new challenges. We really love this Spring To-Do List from The Glitter Guide – lots of Spring inspiration. As well, we are giving away a Beyond the Backyard by Jane Farnham FQB on our Facebook page this week. Click here to enter!

Let’s begin the new season with our Thankful Thursday . We have been partnering with many incredibly talented quilt designers to create exclusive quilt designs for our Free Projects Program! Have you seen all the pretty quilt designs yet? If not, be sure to check them out here. One quilt designer we had the privilege to partner with is Chris Hoover of Whirligig Designs, so today we are taking time to thank the lovely Chris!

Chris Hoover started quilting over 24 years ago, a hobby that very quickly became a new passion. A mix of both traditional and more modern quilt designs, Chris’ designs are very much influenced by the fabric collections she uses, and sees inspiration for her quilt designs from architecture and nature! Chris started Whirligig Designs about 10 years ago when she started quilt designing, a company that has quickly gained success for her trustworthy, concise, and wonderful quilt patterns.

We had the privilege of partnering with Whirligig Designs, and Chris designed two stunning quilts for us. The first is Framed using our Nightfall Collection, a simple yet eclectic quilt design that perfectly showcases our black and gold collection – soso beautiful!!

The second is Box Trot using our Let’s Go by Andrea Turk for Cinnamon Joe Studio Collection. This quilt design is a very clean-looking quilt with an almost gradation effect of color – very modern and lovely!

We adore Chris’ quilt design and style, and absolutely love the quilt designs she created for us – Thank you so much, Chris!! We are very thankful for your partnership, and are very excited for all the future endeavors to come! You can find Chris Hoover’s patterns and more on her website. Have a lovely day!

20 March

Hi everyone!

Happy Thursday! We hope everyone is having a terrific day so far. We woke up today to a Winter Wonderland this morning…yup, lots and lots more snow and cold. It looks like Spring isn’t upon us any time soon. We love our Winters, but we are ready for blooming flowers and green grass! We hope everyone is having a better weather day than us!

It’s time for this week’s Thankful Thursday, and today we are sharing a very talented and special quilt designer…Christa Watson! Christa began her love for quilting in 1994, and never turned back! From there, her love for the hobby translated into teaching quilting, and eventually, a full-time business. Christa now teaches quilting, creates stunning quilt patterns, sells fabric and supplies at ChristaQuilts.com, and runs a quilting blog. Christa’s creativity for quilt designs goes both ways with traditional and more modern esthetics, providing a fantastic range in many different quilt patterns!

Christa’s talent has been published in Quilty Magazine, as well as being the featured cover quilt for the November/December 2013 edition, and works with many fantastic companies and partnerships. Christa is even one of the Modern Quilt Guild’s recent contest’s finalists, with her quilt design Modern X, as the March 2014 member spotlight. Christa’s intuitive eye for color and design is definitely spot-on! Congratulations, Christa!

Christa Quilts Herringbone Gray Matters More

We have the privilege of partnering with Christa as one of our quilt designers. Christa created a wonderful and modern quilt design for us using our Gray Matters More by Jackie McFee fabric collection. The quilt design is called the Herringbone Quilt, and perfectly highlights the different gray and yellow designs perfectly. The quilt is absolutely amazing – it seriously is a piece of art. Christa will also be sewing up this quilt for us. We will be featuring it at Spring Quilt Market this year in Pittsburgh, and we are very excited about that! It’s going to be a real stunner in person!!

All of our quilt designs are free projects on our website, so you can create your very own Herringbone Quilt by finding the full instructions here. Christa’s instructions are clear and concise, easy to follow, and the end result? A beautiful and modern quilt! Thank you so much, Christa, for creating this lovely quilt design for us. We are very thankful for your partnership, and are very excited for all the future endeavors to come! You can find Christa on her blog, website, and Facebook page.

13 March

Hi everyone!

Happy Thursday! We hope everyone is having a terrific day so far. Have you seen our latest Winsday? We are giving away our Roonie the Raccoon Kit, with all the necessary supplies to make your very own plush friend!! If you haven’t, be sure to check it out here.

It’s time for this week’s Thankful Thursday, and today we are taking the time to thank Marvy Uchida! Since their establishment in 1973, Uchida of America Corporation has been one of the leading brands in a wide range of quality office, craft, and art-related products. Their product range includes paper punches, pens and markers (including paint markers, fabric markers, gel pens, chalk markers, & more!),  crafting supplies, rubber stamps, and everything else you need to get crafty! They have a wide range in color palette and materials, making all their products perfect for any skill-level crafter.

We are huge fans of Marvy Uchida products, especially their pens and markers. As a fabrics company, with the recent launch of our felt and chalkboard fabric, we are always looking for fun and creative ways to use our fabrications. Different types of pens and markers that work with our fabrications….now that is a brilliant idea!

Camelot Fabrics | Uchida Chalk Markers

We had the privilege of meeting and chatting with some wonderful people from Marvy Uchida at this year’s CHA Show. Their product line includes chalk markers, fabric markers, and gel pens so we were exceptionally thrilled and excited to test them out with our fabrications! With our chalkboard fabric, we tested their markers onto its surface and we were very impressed! The colors were all very vibrant and opaque on the chalkboard fabric surface.. Another bonus: it was also super easy to clean, with just a damp cloth. We also tested them out on our window, another recommended use for them. We had so much fun doodling on our chalkboard fabric and windows with their markers!!

We wanted to thank the lovely people at Marvy Uchida for providing us with a wonderful array of chalkboard markers! It was very kind of them to do so, providing us with their Bistro Chalk Markers and Bistro Chalk Markers (Fine Point) to try out on our chalkboard fabric. All of the markers are super opaque, with a stunning neon hue, and very easy to use! Thank you so much, Marvy Uchida, for being super sweet – it was so great getting to meet you at the CHA Show!

We hope you have enjoyed this week’s Thankful Thursday! If you haven’t entered our Winsday yet, you can check it out here. Have a great day everyone!
