Happy Thursday! And Happy October!! It definitely feels like fall today – crisp and chilly this morning! Definitely needed to bundle up in my blanket scarf… Brr!!
Time for this week’s Thankful Thursday! We are sharing some super exciting news with you all today!! Missouri Star Quilt Co. is a family-owned quilt shop located in Hamilton, Missouri with the sweetest story ever. Mom, dad, and their seven children moved from California to Missouri, but after the market crash and dip in the newspaper industry, things got a little tough. Two of the kids had an idea to help out their parents towards retirement. They bought a small building and started the Missouri Star Quilt Co.– selling a few quilting supplies and offering some machine quilting services to start.
They quickly found success – in part due to mom, Jenny, who became the quilting instructor and started a quilting YouTube channel(which is now the most subscribed and watched quilting channel!). They also have an online shop, with great deals every week! They have now expanded, but the love for family & fabric is continuous and strong.

It’s time for this week’s Thankful Thursday! Today we are featuring one of our favorite quilters, who sewed a quilt for us for Quilt Market. I know, Fall Quilt Market is already coming up oh-so quickly that the Spring one seems so far away… but we really wanted to share this beautiful quilt with all of you! As well as the quilter behind it, because we adore her! Vicki of Orchid Owl Quilts has quilted a few quilts for us (some of them are hush hush for now! ;)), and every time we receive a quilt we are amazed at the intricate work she does. She quilted our Butterfly Quilt (one of the free patterns on our website), with our Botanical Collection, and this one especially “wowed” us (it’s also a big one!). We loved how it acted as a showstopper backdrop for our Botanical section!

They have all the tools you need for your next modern project – fabric cuts, notions, how-to techniques, and kits! From beginner to more advanced patterns, they are sure to have something for you. A couple of our quilt & pillow patterns were featured in their latest Summer 2015 catalogue, including some exclusive Craft of Quilting patterns with our Gypsy Lane, Zoey, and The Kitten’s Meow collections.

Keeping up with our Star Wars theme these past two weeks with our Thankful Thursday! Today we are featuring one of the awesome projects we had created with our Star Wars: The Force Awakens collection – our Bucket Bag! Stephanie Baldwin, a fellow Montrealer, member of the Montreal MQG, and voice behindthis blog, is one of our favorite people in the city to sew projects for us. She is super talented, efficient, and creative – and every project she has done for us…. we all smile with excitement and say “wow!”.
For the launch of our Star Wars: The Force Awakens collection on Force Friday, we wanted to share some projects created with the designs. We chose our Bucket Bag, one of our free projects, which is a super cool beach, gym, or weekender bag – perfect for a Star Wars fan!
