We had the absolute pleasure of partnering with Jessie of Harding Hill Designs to create a quilt design for our Free Projects Program! Jessie created this beautiful and modern digital quilt pattern with our Petite Plume by Andrea Turk from Cinnamon Joe Studio Collection called Crossroads. We adore the simplicity of the over look, with the cross pattern, and the intricate triangle detailing within the cross. It makes for a very interesting and eye-catching quilt, and would be beautiful as wall décor! You can download the free PDF for the Crossroads Quilt on our website HERE! :)

It’s time for our Thankful Thursday! Today we are featuring one of our fantastically talented quilt designers, Marta of From Marta With Love! Marta has always been a sewing enthusiast, but she found her true passion with quilting in 2010. A friend had shown her how to piece a quilt block, and from there, she began reading books and blogs on quilting…and found her quilting calling! From there, she started quilting more and created her blog, From Marta With Love, as a way to document her sewing adventures. Her blog is dedicated to both quilts and crafts, and she shares sewing tutorials for quilts and bags, patterns, giveaways, and more. From Marta With Love is bright, colorful, creative, and fresh…and that’s what attracted us to the blog!

We had the pleasure of working with Marta on a quilt design for our Free Projects Program! We loved Marta’s modern design esthetic and knew she would be a wonderful addition to our pattern designers family. Marta created her Chevrons Arrow Quilt for us, and boy is it a stunner!! We absolutely love the perpendicular alignment of the chevrons in this quilt design, and the cleanness of the rest of the space. Marta used our Singin’ the Blues by Jackie McFee Collection from our Spring 2014 lines, with our Au Natural Fresh Solid, and it is soso beautiful. You can find the free PDF download for the Chevrons Arrow Quilt HERE!

Hi everyone!

Happy Thursday!! We hope everyone’s day is as sunny and wonderful as our is today. We are definitely thankful for the warmer weather and longer days; it’s such a lovely change to still have the glimmering of sun peaking through at 8 PM. Here’s to Summer!! (officially on Sunday, in fact!)

It’s also time for another thank you, one closer and more dear to our hearts. We had the absolute pleasure of collaborating with the ever-so-talented Kristy Daum of St. Louis Folk Victorian to create some stunning pillow patterns for us! Kristy had started her love for sewing as a child, and this spark only flourished to a love for quilting! She currently resides is St. Louis, Missouri and is the founder and President of the St. Louis Modern Quilt Guild. As well, she has lectured and taught at several quilt workshops and events, and loves modern quilting! She also has her own line of patterns, all of which you can find on Etsy and Craftsy! Be sure to check them out, because her designs are awesome (…and so is she, of course)!!

Kristy created four pillow patterns for us for our Free Projects Program, two of which are now available on our website! One of her patterns is called Around The Block which is a fun pillow pattern of geometrically placed, isosceles triangles that create a super cool and modern effect. We absolutely love how it looks with our Black & Tan Collection! Another pillow pattern that Kristy created for us is called Elevation, which a stunning gradation of triangles in a chevron alignment. We love the simplicity of this pattern, and how there is so much flexibility to play around with different color ways and fabric designs. Such a seamless design!

Kristy also sewed the Elevation pillow for us with our What A Gem Collection, and it looks incredible (even more-so in person, if you can imagine!). We lovelovelove how the chevron pattern goes perfectly with the feathers and arrow designs in this line, and how the colors are in an almost ombred effect! Kristy did an absolutely fantastic job sewing this together for us, and we cannot thank her enough for doing it in a shorter timeframe. Kristy also blogged about Elevation on her blog, so be sure to check out the post here! You’ll find more information on the how-to for the construction of the pillow.

Be sure to check out the Elevation and Around The Block pillow patterns on our website, both of which are available as free patterns! Thank you SOSO much, Kristy, for being such an incredible person to partner with – all of your patterns are super clear and easy-to-follow and it has been an absolutely pleasure working with you thus far. We hope this is the beginning of a wonderful partner/friendship! Be sure to check our Kristy’s blog for lots more, as well as her Etsy Shop, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest!! Lots of fun stuff on quilting, sewing, fabric, and more to be found. Have an awesome rest of the day, everyone!

It’s also time for our Thankful Thursday! Today we are featuring a beautiful magazine, Sewing World Magazine, who was so kind to feature us in their latest June 2014 issue. Sewing World Magazine is a monthly magazine dedicated to contemporary projects (quilts, bags, clothing, and more!), delicious fabrics, and sewing techniques & interviews. This modern magazine is bright, fun, and fresh…and such a delight to flip through. Their editor, Julie Briggs, has such a great eye for all things pretty! In their latest June issue, they have included some Summer-inspired project ideas (their cover page pillow is a stunner!) and a 16 page special on kids’ makes…and so much more! We definitely recommend this gorgeous, and equally informative, magazine to all our fellow modern, sewing enthusiasts!

Our Birds of a Feather by Allison Cole Collection was featured as the monthly “The Fabric Stash“! This regular, monthly feature is gorgeous and inspiring…just look at all those vivid colors! Who would not be inspired? “The Fabric Stash” is such a brilliant idea, and we are so honored to have been chosen for this month. They included a little write up on Allison, as well as the collection images, and stockist details. So so fun!

Hi everyone!

Happy Thursday! We hope you are having a brilliant day!! One of our designers, Jane Farnham, was featured on Print & Pattern this week! They showcased her new Spring 2014 collections from Camelot Fabrics. Congratulations, Jane! :)

We’ve got our Thankful Thursday to share with you! Today we are taking the time to thank the CHA Craft Industry Magazine for their lovely feature on our new craft products in their Spring 2014 issue! We got to experience our first CHA show this year, back in January 2014 in Anaheim, California. It was such a fantastic experience getting to showcase our fabric collections, but also our crafting products – our ad-fab™ and soft & hard felt. We received so many awesome comments and feedback on our new products, and got to meet so many inspiring bloggers and crafting enthusiasts! We also wrote about our full CHA show experience, which you can read here.

Craft Industry Today, the magazine correlated to the CHA, has a wonderful feature called “Trend Report”…and guess who was featured in it? Yup, that’s right..us! They reported about the CHA show experience, and wrote up a lovely section on our booth and adhesive products.

“Adhesive-backed fabric was presented by Camelot Fabrics from Canada. Ready for die-cutting and appliques, this versatile product appeals to mixed-media crafters, sewists, and paper crafters alike. […] For crafters who like even more texture, how about some patterned adhesive-backed felt? The fabulous tactile experience of felt combined with the ease and convenience of the sticky back makes this a winner for teen/youth crafting, too.” – Jenny Barnett Rohrs, founder and editor of CraftTestDummies.com

We are so happy you were able to stop by our booth and that you enjoyed our adhesive products! We had such a great experience at the CHA Show and were so glad to have been part of such a positive community. Be sure to check out the CHA website to get a copy of the Spring 2014 Craft Industry Magazine, as well as for more info on the CHA. You can check out our ad-fab™ and adhesive felt lines on our website! Have a great day! :)
