When I first joined Camelot Fabrics, they asked if I could help by making one of the DIY projects for Spring Quilt Market. Of course I said yes! I have another excuse to go in my quilt cave and leave my husband alone with the three kids: This is for work!
Imagine my surprise when I saw that the pattern was designed for templates! I am not a template enthusiast. As a matter of fact I am more the lazy quilter type who enjoys simple strip piecing projects. So I put my thinking cap on and figured out how to make this project without using templates. And I thought: Why not share this on a How To’s Day post? The pattern is called Saybrook Island Pillow by Stephanie Palmer of Late Night Quilter .

Hi everyone,
Happy Tuesday! I hope you are having a lovely day. Today is Shark Awareness Day! Cool shark fact of the day? Sharks’ ears are located inside of their heads, and can hear up to 3000 feet away!! Wow. They’ve definitely got supreme hearing skills!
On to our How To’s Day! Today we are featuring our High Tide Pillow by Stephanie Palmer of Late Night Quilter. The High Tide pillow is a fun design, comprised of different sized triangles and trapezoids. Together they create an awesome, scrappy and whimsy feel. This larger, 20″ x 20″ sized pillow is perfect as an accent pillow for a serene living room space, or to jazz up some plain outdoor wicker chairs. We chose to feature this pillow with our London Fog collection, and had fun mixing the different teal & grey prints together. The finished pillow is fun, but would still fit perfectly into a contemporary space.

Hi everyone!
Happy Tuesday! I hope everyone is having a lovely afternoon!! Feeling crafty? Well we’ve got the perfect project for you today…
Because it’s Tuesday, which means it’s DIY day on the blog! This week, we are featuring our gorgeous Saybrook Island Pillow by Stephanie Palmer of Late Night Quilter! Saybrook Island is a modern, “scrappy” pillow design that allows you to have fun with mixing different prints together. This is a great pillow to use the “extra” fabric pieces that have been carefully stored “because you never know when you’ll need that strip for something” ;)
Well, crafty friends, Saybrook Island was made for all of those lone rangers. You can match different prints together, or choose a solid color palette too, but in the end you’ll have a pillow that is as pretty to look at as it is comfy. We chose to feature our Magnolia by Alisse Courter collection and love the feminine touches of the dainty flowers together.

Hi everyone,
Happy Tuesday! We hope you are having a lovely day. It’s another gorgeously, sunny day out today – a little cooler than yesterday, but Spring weather has officially arrived!! Goodbye puffy coats, goodbye heavy boots haha.
Time for this week’s How To’s Day! Today we are featuring another one of our lovely quilt designs, this week’s by Stephanie Palmer of Late Night Quilter. Stephanie created her blog, Late Night Quilter, because that is what she started out as – working full-time during the day (as well as being a full-time mama), and quilting at night. Such a cute name. As she started to get more involved in the quilting world, her blog and brand quickly grew…and she saw herself being more in the quilting industry.
Now, along with her friend Michelle, they run Late Night Quilter – a long arm quilting service and pattern design company based in Austin, Texas. Their style is cool and modern, just like our fabric designs, so we knew they would be a great fit from the start! For our Free Projects Program, Stephanie created her Summer of the Sound Quilt, featuring It’s a Bird’s Life by Heather Rosas, which truly showcases the pretty greens and pinks in this collection. The star designs make this quilt truly unique, and would make a fantastic bed quilt or wall decor. Just stunning!

Hi everyone,
Happy Thursday! We hope everyone is having a brilliant day. It’s National Cookie Day – and all we can say to that is…where are the cookies?! Haha! Bring on the oatmeal, chocolate chip and macadamia nuts cookies pleaseee. YUM!
It’s time for this week’s Thankful Thursday! This week we are featuring one of our fantastic project designers…Stephanie Palmer of Late Night Quilter! Together Stephanie and Michelle, both fabric and quilting enthusiasts & mums, own and operate Late Night Quilter – a professional longarm quilting and pattern design company, and accompanying blog! The Late Night Quilter blog is a wonderful quilting haven that is dedicated to quilting projects and tutorials, all things modern & pretty, and longarm quilting services. They are focused on sharing their quilting tips and tricks, their latest quilting creations, and inspiring others with their love for fabric.
We had the lovely opportunity of working with Stephanie on a couple of quilt patterns for our Free Projects Program. Stephanie created three modern, whimsical quilt designs for us and we adore them all! They all embrace the esthetic that is Camelot Fabrics and showcases our fun fabric collections wonderfully. The first is a beautiful quilted pillow pattern called High Tide – a pillow design of diagonal pieces that create interesting triangle and trapezoid shapes. It’s a great pillow for showing a multitude of patterns, such as our London Fog Collection, in a cool way.
The second pattern is a stunning quilt design called Summer on the Sound, a pattern of pretty starbursts. We adore how it looks with our It’s a Bird’s Life by Heather Rosas Collection, focusing on the beautiful pinks and greens while keeping the rest neutral. Saybrook Island is another quilt pillow that creates a gorgeous, symmetrical “leaf like” pattern – we think it looks perfect with our Mint Condition by Jackie McFee Collection! [CLICK TO SEE MORE]
