Happy Monday! We hope everyone had a fantastic weekend. The temperature has definitely been dipping close to 0℃ here…BRR!! Not quite ready for the winter storms yet, but we’re trying to keep warm with our wool coats, knitted scarves, and ear warmers.

It’s time for this week’s Moody Monday! Our Singin’ the Blues by Jackie McFee Collection is just as the name suggests. This collection is all about pretty shades of blues in a multitude of wonderful geometric patterns. Blue is such a universally flattering color, and works well for all seasons (pacific blue for the warmer months, navy for the fall & winter!), and is always a classic. The simple, but eye-catching geometric prints in our Singin’ the Blues Collection are so stylish, and remind us of a wonderful Mediterranean vacation. Just add a touch of some blue into your house, and it will instantly lift everything up. You can see examples of projects here!

We are so inspired by Iro’s Spring/Summer 2015 Collection! This collection perfectly encapsulates where we wish we were right now. Crisp white, blue, and black are the primary colors in this tropical-inspired collection, complete with dust jackets, wide-legged trousers, and unique cut-outs. We especially adored the featured dust jacket in a stunning blue print, reminiscent of our Singin’ the Blues Collection. You can see the rest of this collection here.

It’s time for this week’s How To’s Day! Today we are featuring one of our exclusive quilt designs from our Free Projects Program – our Chevron Arrows Quilt by From Marta With Love. Marta from From Marta With Love created this absolutely stunning, modern quilt for us that we absolutely adore – it’s an art piece in itself that can be showcased on your favorite couch or bed, or even to decorate a blank wall. We love the perpendicular feel of the chevron arrows, giving this quilt a unique and festive look that is perfect with both contemporary or more modern fabric designs.

We decided to use our Singin’ the Blues by Jackie McFee Collection and the striking blue hues look fantastic with this quilt. It’s time for our Thankful Thursday! Today we are featuring one of our fantastically talented quilt designers, Marta of From Marta With Love! Marta has always been a sewing enthusiast, but she found her true passion with quilting in 2010. A friend had shown her how to piece a quilt block, and from there, she began reading books and blogs on quilting…and found her quilting calling! From there, she started quilting more and created her blog, From Marta With Love, as a way to document her sewing adventures. Her blog is dedicated to both quilts and crafts, and she shares sewing tutorials for quilts and bags, patterns, giveaways, and more. From Marta With Love is bright, colorful, creative, and fresh…and that’s what attracted us to the blog!

We had the pleasure of working with Marta on a quilt design for our Free Projects Program! We loved Marta’s modern design esthetic and knew she would be a wonderful addition to our pattern designers family. Marta created her Chevrons Arrow Quilt for us, and boy is it a stunner!! We absolutely love the perpendicular alignment of the chevrons in this quilt design, and the cleanness of the rest of the space. Marta used our Singin’ the Blues by Jackie McFee Collection from our Spring 2014 lines, with our Au Natural Fresh Solid, and it is soso beautiful. It’s time to start off this week with our Moody Monday! Today we are inspiring you with our Singin’ the Blues by Jackie McFee Collection!! Singin’ the Blues, as the name suggests, is a spectacular collection encompassing different shades of blue. The vibrant mix of cobalt blue, topaz, and mint colors reminds us of the ocean…we could definitely imagine a beach vacation somewhere near the Mediterranean Sea with these blue hues, and the stunning chevron, dot, medallion, and lattice designs. But if you can’t whisk yourself away to a beach vacation right now, you can create that same feel with a Mediterranean-inspired room. Imagine ocean-inspired curtains, elegant chevron pillows, and a matching modern, blue-hued quilt! Who really needs a getaway now…right? :) See the full collection here!

We love getting inspired by the runway trends for the upcoming season! One show that particularly is reminiscent of our Singin’ the Blues Collection is that of Chloe‘s Spring RTW line. The whole Chloe collection reminds us of a tropical, Mediterranean vacation…and the essentials you’d want to pack! Think loose, but still sleek, silhouettes in earthy tones, white, and blues in beautiful draping and flowy materials. So so pretty!

We’ve got one more Spring 2014 collection to share with you all!! Last, but definitely not least, we are sharing our Singin’ The Blues Collection by Jackie McFee for Camelot Fabrics.

Jackie McFee’s Singin’ The Blues is ornate and vibrant collections of, as the name suggests, blue tones! The beautiful mix of cobalt blue, topaz, and mint colors makes this collection very light, breezy, and ocean-inspired. This collection reminds us a beach vacation somewhere near the Mediterranean Sea, such as Greece – the rustic architecture, the clear waters, the rich culture, and the delicious food! Wouldn’t that be an exquisite vacation? Singin’ The Blues is decorated with elegant designs of medallions, ogees, hexagons, and lattices all in wonderful blue hues. So, so pretty! We can imagine a Singin’ The Blues summer frock, a room with a Mediterranean theme complete with flowing curtains, and a tote bag to carry all your beach treasures.
