I remember, a few years ago, a friend of mine commented on all the quilting blogs she was reading and I just couldn’t believe how many she was following.  I had replied that I simply did not have the time with the three babies in the house.  But in the next few days I made an effort to start reading one a day. Now that there is no need for diapers, strollers and bibs in my household, I dedicate 20 minutes every morning to blog reading.  And I also spend time writing some of my own blogs too.

I was on holidays last week and that gave me even more time to read up on some of my favorite blogs and I was surprised to see many writing on very delicate subjects.  Now I am not the type to write comments after reading the blog but the ones I read on holidays are still with me. So I want to take the time on this Thankful Thursday to say thank you!  Cause that’s what blogging is all about!

Hi everyone,

Happy Tuesday! I hope you all are having an amazing day.

Time for our How To’s Day! Today we are featuring our Jungly Collection by Andrea Turk from Cinnamon Joe Studio in a gorgeous Reversible Tote.  Perfect to bring bibs, diapers and bottles everywhere you go.  It will make it even easier when they will ask you how you have decorated the nursery! Hi everyone,

Happy Thursday! We hope you all are having a fantastic day. It’s Chinese New Year (or Lunar New Year), and it’s the year of the sheep. We wish you all a wonderful year full of happiness, prosperity, and memories.

Today’s Thankful Thursday is featuring a lovely pattern shop that we have had the pleasure of working with. We have worked with Alicia of Swoon Sewing Patterns for our Quilt Market shows, and her bags are always a hit. Swoon Sewing Patterns offers pretty, modern patterns for bags and other accessories, and are one of our favorite pattern shops online. From travel bags to her oversized clutch, there’s a pattern for just about every occasion.

Each pattern is easy-to-follow and clear, and the end result is a gem, made by you, that will not look “homemade”. Alicia is a graphic designer by trade, who fell in love with sewing. She found that the commercial patterns she used were not always user-friendly, and decided to try her hand at pattern-making. From there, Swoon Sewing Patterns has only grown – from Etsy to quilt shops – to become many sewers’ preferred, “go-to” pattern shop. And we couldn’t agree more!

Alicia chose our Design Studio Collection to be on the cover of her Dorothy Day Tripper Bag Pattern. We got super excited!! She had made this bag for one of our past QM shows, and everyone LOVED it…so we are so happy that she chose to feature it as the cover. It is stunning, and would be the perfect, stylish weekend or diaper bag!

Thank you so much, Alicia, for featuring our Design Studio Collection on your cover. We have had so much fun working with you, and hope we get to again soon!! You can find more from Swoon Sewing Patterns on her website, Facebook Page, Instagram, and Pinterest. Have an amazing rest of the day, everyone!

19 February

Hi everyone,

Happy Friday!! We hope you all are having a brilliant end to the week. Know what we’re craving today? Flaky, buttery croissants. YUM! And it just so happens to be National Croissant Day. So down for one, or some, haha. We are also hosting our Elixir FQ Bundle Giveaway on our Facebook Page, so you can enter here.

It’s time for this week’s Fan Friday! Today we are featuring a darling quilt we found on Instagram by Jessica Ewing of Always a Crafty Lady. Jessica started her blog, Always a Crafty Lady, at the start of 2015 – a goal to share her handmade projects & inspirations, after seeing the tag “A Year of Making” going around on Instagram. From quilts to clothing for her adorable girls, Jessica shares her passion for handmade items on her blog and gives her experience/tips with each project.

Jessica chose our Fairyville Collection for her super sweet Fairies Quilt that she made as a nap blanket for her daughter. She used a quilt pattern she found on Cluck Cluck Sew. It was also her first time machine quilting, first time binding a quilt, and first time sewing with minky. And the best part? Her daughter adores it!! She also made a second quilt using another of our Heather Rosas’ collections, Folklore.

We are so in love with your Fairies Quilt, Jessica, and are so glad you love our Fairyville Collection. You can check more from Jessica on her blog and Instagram. And if you’re loving our Fairyville Collection, you can check it out here. Have a fantastic weekend, everyone!

Hi everyone!

Happy Tuesday everyone!! Happy Canada Day to all our fellow Canadians! We hope you all are having a great day. Our #PetitePlume Pinterest Giveaway ends this Wednesday!! Be sure to enter HERE if you haven’t yet :)

It’s also time for this week’s How To’s Day! It’s no secret that we love all sorts of sweets and yummy food here at the Camelot Design Studio. Have you seen our What We Love Board? :) We enjoy baking sweet treats, and more importantly, eating them…it’s always a good day when someone brings in something delicious to the office. So inspired by all of our sweet tooths, we decided to make macaron pillows with our fleece…and boy did they turn out exceptionally sweet!!

Our Macaron Pillows are soft, comfy, adorable…and almost good enough to eat! We can imagine a bunch of our macarons, in different pastel colors, decorating a daybed or little girl’s bedroom – oh how cute, right? Because we used our plush fleece, they are perfect for cozying up with, either with a good book or for a little nap. We used our rose, turquoise, and white fleece making our macarons a cascade of pastel confectionary!
