Today is this week’s Thankful Thursday! We have gotten the opportunity to work with so many creative and inspiring people, and today we are thanking someone who is definitely those two things…and much, much more! Today we are thanking one of our quilt designers, Vanessa Fromm of Fabric Confetti.

Vanessa Fromm was an avid sewer from the beginning! As a child, she shared her love for sewing with her grandmother, started to make her own clothing in junior high & high school, and even sewed her own prom dress! How amazing!! After finishing her higher education (by getting a BFA degree in medical illustration and an MBA), she began her career as a middle school English teacher. But even so, her love for sewing remained and Vanessa started getting into quilting again, and eventually machine appliqué. She started Fabric Confetti™, a business dedicated to quilt patterns, fabric appliqué designs, and yes of course – fabric confetti!

We had the privilege of partnering with Vanessa to create an exclusive quilt design for us! Vanessa created a stunning and modern Chevron Quilt for us with our What’s Cookin’ by Allison Cole Collection. The Chevron Quilt is free to download on our website, and can be found here! :)

Vanessa has such a clean and fresh design esthetic that we adore, and fits perfectly with us at Camelot Fabrics. Thank you so much, Vanessa, for creating a wonderful quilt design for us. Happy Friday! That’s right…it’s Friday!! Remember when we said that we were excited that the weather was getting nicer yesterday? Well, we woke up to SNOW this morning. Madness. It’s the end of March, and we are still getting Winter weather! Let’s hope it all melts away before April comes! :)

It’s time for this week’s Fan Friday post! Today we are sharing with you a couple of adorable baby quilts sewn by Heather K. The two baby quilts use different color-ways from our Day at the Zoo Collection, one highlighting the rustic orange bark design and the other mixing greens & blues. The craftsmanship of the quilts is stunning, and the choice in quilt patterns are so lovely! It goes perfectly with the collection. Our Day at the Zoo Collection features charming lions, owls, hippos, and other friendly critters with a mix of neutral colours that would be perfect for any baby- or kid-friendly project.

Heather made these two quilts for two cousins who each have baby boys. Noland was born in January and another cousin adopted an infant, Michael, last Fall. Heather is from a big Irish, Catholic family, and her and her cousins were all the first born daughters! She decided to make baby quilts for the newest little ones in the family – such a sweet gift! :)

We are big cat lovers here at Camelot Fabrics, so this photo just warms our hearts!! Heather’s kittie, Steve McQueen (umm, epic name by the way!), definitely approves of the quilts, shown here helping Heather with the binding:

It has been such a wonderful experience being able to partner with such creative minds who have created quilt designs that perfectly encapsulate our fabric collections. As well, one of our biggest projects as of late has been our Free Projects section on our website and blog! Since the launch of our Camelot Fabrics blog back in September 2013, we have been posting a new free project every week! From adorable baby shoes to DIY chalkboard banners to plush stegosauruses…we’ve crafted a multitude of amazing projects for you all, with free instructions, diagrams, and patterns. One of the greatest things has been the positive feedback and the pictures sent to us of our projects, from you all! So thank you, keep sending them to us! :)

Along with our free projects, we have been partnering with some very talented quilt designers to create one-of-a-kind quilt patterns for our website. Our fabric collections have a fresh and modern twist to them, and all the quilt designs reflect our style perfectly. All the free quilt designs include the instructions, diagrams, and necessary skus in PDF format which you can check out here. We wanted to thank all our wonderful quilt designers for creating some incredible quilt designs for us! You guys rock!! :)

Today we are featuring one of our quilt designs for this week’s How To’s Day. Larene Smith, from The Quilted Button, designed this sweet baby quilt called Diamond Sparkle. You can use any fabric of your choice, but we think this quilt looks especially darling with our Dream a Little Dream Collection by Heather Rosas. Today we thought we’d provide a step-by-step on how to create your very own Diamond Sparkle Quilt – the perfect blanket for all the little ones you know!

Happy Thursday! We hope everyone is having an exceptionally brilliant day. It’s a lovely winter day here today with the sun shining, the temperature being pretty mild, and the glistening of the fresh snow is pretty.

We have got another Thankful Thursday to share! Today we are taking the time to thank Wilma, one of our amazing quilters. Wilma created a four beautiful quilts for us that we’ve used for the past two Quilt Markets. We have received such outstanding and positive comments at Quilt Market on our quilts, and we have Wilma to thank for that.

We wanted to thank Wilma for all the hard work and dedication for sewing all the quilts for us, we truly appreciate it! Wilma did use a couple of outside quilt patterns. As well, we wanted to thank Michelle from Hypernoodle, as she was the one who connected us with Wilma. The collections used for the quilts are Hand Picked by Jackie McFee, Imaginarium by The Camelot Design Studio, The Design Studio Collection by The Camelot Design Studio, and Gray Matters by Jackie McFee. We also have all these collections in Fat Quarter Bundles!
