Hi everyone!

Happy Tuesday everyone! We hope you all are having a wonderful day. It is terribly cold and windy here today, with just a wind gust of only 45 km/hr (27.9 mi/hr)…eek! We are exceptionally jealous of all of you who are enjoying sunny weather and warm rays. With the cold weather, we need something to cheer us up…such as a…party! The holiday festivities have thus come to an end, but sometimes throwing a fantastic party on impulse is the best way to lift the spirits of any bit of S.A.D. (seasonal affective disorder).

For us, any gathering that includes great company, amazing food, and lovely decor (and maybe just a dash or two of sparkle!) is a party! We love easy, DIY party decorating ideas and we’ve got one for you today. Napkins are a great way to change up a party look and add some instant flair to your dinner table, and our DIY napkins tutorial can do just that!

They are easy to make, look fantastic, and are environmentally-friendly. Ps, how cute are these measuring tape-styled napkin rings?! They are part of our new barware collection that will be coming soon, so stay tuned! So, call all of your closest friends and get to DIY-ing, ’cause you’ve got a party to plan!

Hi everyone!

Happy Tuesday! We hope everyone is having an amazing day so far. There are 15 more days till Christmas and there is still so much to do (eek!). As much as I adore the holidays, I always tend to plan to do too much (Pinterest…I’m looking at you!) and as a result, some things may be put to the last minute. DIY projects are perfect for those meaningful, yet fun and simple gifts to give to all your loved ones. We’ve got lots of free projects on our website and blog that you can use this holiday season; be sure to have a look around our sites for your favorites! We’ve got a stunning DIY project for you today, one that would be perfect for that friend who is always on trend. “If you really love Christmas, come on and let it snow.” – Billy Hack, Love Actually

Today’s free project is our Beaded Clutch Tutorial, using our Mint to Be collection. We also created this clutch in a couple of other collections, including our Penelope Collection! A clutch is a wardrobe essential; it can be used as a bag divider for all your loose products and then interchanged for nighttime. The style of this clutch is beautiful and elegant, especially with the scalloped edges and added beads for that extra touch of glam. If you’re thinking of making this clutch for a friend this Christmas, we definitely suggest getting some extra fabric…we’re pretty sure you’ll want to make one for yourself too. Let’s get sewing!

Hi everyone!

Fall Quilt Market was a little whiles away, but we’ve still got the post-QM blues. We had an absolute blast at this year’s Quilt Market in Houston, and got to meet so many fantastic and creative people. Unpacking all our projects, chatting with new contacts, and scrolling through all our photos, we’ve been super inspired and cannot wait to share what’s to come from Camelot Fabrics! Our Quilt Market experience was definitely memorable, and we’re sharing them all with you today! :)

The Camelot Fabrics Booth! #booth1324

This was our stunning booth set-up at Quilt Market! We had all our designers’ collections as different panels with our creative and fun projects for each. As well, we featured some of our licensed fabrics (Star Trek, Star Wars, and Spider-Man), our new barware (more info coming soon!), introduced Jane Farnham (our newest designer), and our new lines. Our booth was vibrant and colorful, and showcased all our pretty fabrics perfectly.

Hi everyone!

Today is another How To’s day…time for another crafty project for you all! We are sharing with you a tutorial on how to make your very own Smoking Slippers.

week05_smoking-slippers

Our Smoking Slippers for Men & Women were made with the Design Studio Collection. The ladies’ slippers are made from 2140504 #1, Blue & Gray Fretwork, and the men’s slippers are made from 2140507 #3, Gray Mandorla.

As far as flat shoes goes, ballet slippers have been “in” for the longest time and still will be for years to come. But, there is a new contender in the mix that we have seen pop up lately…and those are the adorable smoking slippers. Originally from the Victorian Era, smoking slippers were used by men when they entered the, well, smoking room. Fast forward to the 21st century, they are now the latest footwear for both men and women…and with the newfound purpose of simply fashion wear.

Smoking slippers are a mix between a ballet flat and a loafer, and are often embellished with tassels, monograms, and in fun prints. And on top of being fashion forward and trendy, they are also super comfortable.

Today we are showing you how to make your very own pair of smoking slippers, so now you can be on-trend at home too! Let’s get sewing!

Hi everyone!

Today is Friday!! It is also the day before Quilt Market…and we are pretty excited (*currently jumping around giddily while we post*). For today’s Fan Friday, we have decided to share with you all a couple of marvelous fan projects by Wendy from Creative Miscellany using our Girl Power fabric. Sure, all the Superhero men are pretty fantastic…but the super heroines are just as incredible. Here are some projects using our Girl Power fabric to prove just that!

The first fan project by Wendy is this darling top hat using our Girl Power Striped fabric. It’s absolutely fantastical with the broach, feathers, and iridescent veil!! Check below for some pictures.
