Hi everyone,
Happy Tuesday! Hope you all are having a lovely day. And today is IHOP’s annual National Pancake Day! So if you’re able to head on over to an IHOPs, be sure to get your pancakes on. Deliciousness in the tummy, and for an amazing cause! It’s also the last day to enter our May Arts Ribbon x Wildflowers Collection Giveaway.
It’s time for this week’s How To’s Day! Today we are sharing a tutorial for a modern and striking pillow, our Color Block Pillow by Marion of Made By Marion. The color block design is very clean looking; three colors can be chosen to create a coordinating look, so you can have fun mixing and matching! And, the tassel details are just too fun – they add that extra bit of flair and uniqueness. This gorgeous Color Block Pillow is perfect as a colorful accent piece to any room. Scatter a couple of our Color Block Pillows onto a daybed, in different color combinations, and you’ll have yourself a vibrant place for reading (or napping!).
Are you as obsessed with our Color Block Pillow as we are? It’s a beauty. Click MORE to see the full tutorial. Have fun creating!! :)

Hi everyone,
Happy Tuesday! This week, we’re showing you how to make a fun tote bag, with a band of pom-pom trim for a little extra pizzazz. Big enough to act as an overnight bag, this playful tote is an optimistic nod toward spring when it’s sewn up in blossom-colored cottons like the ones from our Pastel me More cotton collection.

Hi everyone,
Happy Friday! Woot woot for it being the end of the week! We’ve made it through our first week of February…it can only get better (weather wise!) from here. Cold fingers and toes crossed!
Time to end our week with our Fan Friday! Today we are featuring some awesome Beyond the Backyard projects made by Reece Montgomery. We were tagged on Instagram by Reece, and when we saw her pictures, we had a “oh-my-good-so-cute” moment lol. We absolutely adore the projects that Reece decided to create with our floral and leaf, Spring-inspired collection. She also featured these projects on her blog, Happy Okapi, which you can check out here. In addition to sharing her projects on her blog, she is Canadian-based (like us!!) and shares upcoming fabric collections & sales!
She used Swoon Sewing Patterns’ Dorothy Day Tripper pattern to create a stunning Beyond the Backyard bag – the pattern that actually features our Design Studio Collection as its front image! She also made some other cool accessories with Beyond the Backyard – a coffee cozie, a couple of key fobs, and an eyeglasses pouch. We love how versatile our collection is, and that it looks so great in each project!!
Thanks so much, Reece, for the tag! You can find more from Reece on her blog and Instagram. And with that, we are ready to rock this weekend! Have a great one, everyone!! :)
Happy Sewing!

Hi everyone,
Happy Thursday! We hope you all are having a wonderful day so far. Did you know…that today is World Nutella Day? Yup, it’s an official day dedicated to the incredibly delicious (and highly addictive!) chocolate, hazelnut spread that is amazing with pretty much anything (or on it’s own. Spoonfuls? We’re not judging haha!).
Time for our Thankful Thursday! Today we are featuring one of our favorite magazines, Craft Ideas. Their latest Winter 2014 edition was also the big reveal of their new look. Everything got revamped and updated, and it looks fantastic!! Complete with a new logo, the updated magazine now features a “New Products” section (a breakdown of the latest craft tools and materials), Book Reviews, a “Green Ideas” section (listings for eco-friendly products and companies), and highlights up-and-coming designers. As well, Craft Ideas will now be releasing a new printed issue every second month! We were always a fan of Craft Ideas, and were so excited that they were taking on this new venture.
Flipping through the Winter 2014 issue, you might recognize some familiar projects. Craft Ideas featured two of our free projects in their magazine. The first is our Cascading Chevrons Pillow, one of our favorites! You can find the free pattern on our website too. As well, they featured our Border Blast Quilt by one of our wonderful pattern designers, Larene Smith of The Quilted Button.
We love working with Craft Ideas Magazine and are so happy they love our projects. And, it’s also so fun seeing our projects featured in print! You can find out more from Craft Ideas on their website, Facebook Page, Twitter, Pinterest, and YouTube. And with that, we’re going to find us some Nutella…haha. Have a great day!
Happy Sewing!

Hi everyone,
Happy Tuesday! Hope everyone is having a lovely day so far. Just to make your day even brighter, we’ve got our weekly Winsday on our Facebook Page. We are giving away some of our adorable Paddington Bear fabric!
Time for our How To’s Day! Today we are featuring our tutorial for our absolutely gorgeous Venn Placemats. Our Venn Placemats are the perfect mix between clean design aesthetic and keeping your surfaces, well, clean. We know that our mathematicians and designers will especially adore the style of our placemats. Have fun choosing different and unique print combinations! The simplicity and modernity of our Venn Placemats would work in any interior space. And because they are oh-so pretty, you’ll want to leave them as added decor on your dining table.
We offer two sizes of our Venn Placemat in this tutorial – a larger mat with the full Venn diagram look and a smaller mat, that is equally stunning. We chose to style ours with our Rise & Shine Collection, and think the blues, greys, and yellows would work wonderfully in any space.
Want to make your very own Venn Placemats? Click MORE to see the full tutorial!
