Hi everyone!
Happy Tuesday! We hope everyone is having a wonderful day. It’s Day TWO of our Spring 2014 Collections Launch. Have you seen the collections we’ve launched so far? Be sure to check out Star Wars III, Ultimate Spider-Man II, and Girl Power II. Lots more prettiness to come! :)
We have our How To’s Day for you!! Today’s tutorial is on a really adorable, fun kid’s tote – Our Tot’s Triangle Tote!! We remember being little girls always wanting to be just like our mommies; wearing her heels, putting on her makeup, dowsing ourselves in too much perfume, and of course, strutting around with her clothes and handbags. Now our kids don’t have to go through mommy’s things (although, they probably still will!) because we can make them their very own tote – kid-sized and friendly, but just as chic! Our younger selves would feel so pretty and grown-up with our very own bag to match our mum’s, putting all the important things inside – like chapstick, animal crackers, and crayons – of course! ;)
We can even imagine little girls and boys going to the playground with our kid tote – the perfect companion for carrying all their park essentials (bubble, sand toys, and band-aids!). They can keep all of their newfound treasures inside too. And there’s even an interior pocket to keep all their special things safe! :)
We used Our Playground by Vita Mechachonis collection for this tutorial; a happy and playful collection inspired by another thing we miss most about our childhoods – going to the park to play with friends, swinging to our heart’s content, and hanging on the monkey bars. So many wonderful memories that make Playground especially nostalgic.

Hi everyone!
Happy Tuesday! We hope everyone is having a lovely day. It’s rainy and dreary here today, but you know what they say…April Showers bring May Flowers! But for now, to brighten our day we still have our Bright Now Giveaway going on! Today is the last day to enter, so if you haven’t yet – be sure to here!
Today we are bringing to you another stunning quilt tutorial for this week’s How To’s Day! The quilt design we are sharing with you is Quilt Bars by Tammy Silvers of Tamarinis – a simplistic, yet fresh and versatile quilt that works with a multitude of different fabric designs.
The clean cut lines of this quilt design by Tammy give a very modern and geometrically pleasing look, perfect to showcase coordinating fabric colors and patterns. For this tutorial, we have used our Mint Condition by Jackie McFee Collection and the mint & grey patterns compliment each other perfectly in this quilt!
This would be a great quilt to gift, for both genders and any age! We can imagine this quilt with some soft pastels for a “baby’s first quilt” or this quilt in dark navy hues for a boy quilt. So many possibilities! You can get the PDF version of this tutorial on our website, in the our Free Projects Program section, but today we are going to share the tutorial with you on the blog. Be sure to also check out Tammy Silvers of Tamarinis, as well as her Facebook Page, Pinterest, and Etsy!

April
Hi everyone!
Happy Tuesday! It is also the first of April today!! And April Fools Day! Did anyone try pulling a prank on someone else or got a prank pulled on them? :) We love a brilliant joke or prank here in the office, as long as it’s all in good fun! Happy pranking! :)
We are starting off April with this week’s How To’s Day. Today we are going to share with you another one of our quilt designs – Our Flying High Quilt by Swirly Girls Design for Camelot Fabrics. This quilt design is playful and modernistic, with the triangles creating an awesome “flying high” pattern (almost like geese!) that works wonderfully with our Take Flight Collection. The tiered triangles also give this otherwise simple and clean design more of a bold statement!
This quilt design would look fantastic with any collection, and is perfect as a kid’s quilt or for snuggling with on the couch, but we especially adore it with our Take Flight Collection. You can get the PDF version of this tutorial on our website, in the our Free Projects Program section, but today we are going to share the tutorial with you on the blog. Be sure to also check out Swirly Girls Design for lots more, as well as their Facebook Page, Pinterest, and Twitter!

Hi everyone!
Happy Tuesday! How has everyone’s week been going so far? Still a little cold here, but at least we’ve been having longer & brighter days. Warmer weather is hopefully just around the corner. Have you entered our Beyond the Backyard FQ Bundle Giveaway yet? Today is the last day, so tell us what your favorite thing about Spring is on our Facebook post to enter! :)
On to this week’s How To’s Day! We’ve got another fantastic free project to share with you all. Today we are sharing our Cascading Chevrons Pillow Tutorial – an absolutely stunning, decorative pillow that is the perfect accessory for any home design. Today, decorative pillows are extremely popular and an easy way to spruce up any space but they can get really pricey. As well, finding the right pillow to fit your home décor, style, or color palette adds an additional challenge. With today’s tutorial, we have got the solution to all those problems and more!
Our chevron pillow is polished and contemporary, would fit the esthetic of any style (just by choosing different fabric prints!), pretty simple to make with our tutorial, and definitely cost-effective. We can imagine a sleek white couch or simple daybed adorned by a couple of our chevron pillows in bright, fun fabric choices. There are endless possibilities, but that’s the splendor of this tutorial!
We created our gorgeous Cascading Chevrons pillow using our Penelope Collection, which is the perfect Spring collection…and would look especially fantastic in a modern, cottage-inspired home. The pillow design and colors make us oh so happy and ready for the Spring season! :)

Hi everyone!
Happy Friday! We hope that everyone is having a wonderful end of the week. Even though it doesn’t look like Spring quite yet, we are in a springtime mood heading into the weekend. The Glitter Guide’s To-Do Spring List especially inspires us. Also, we have our Beyond the Backyard FQB Giveaway currently running so head on over to our Facebook Page to enter! :)
Also, it’s time to end this week with our Fan Friday! In the midst of the things we love about Spring, we adore all the little critters that start to come back from hibernation. There’s nothing more peaceful than a lovely park stroll, hearing the birds chirping and the rustlings of tiny animals. And while foxes are not exactly common to see in our area, unfortunately, they still remind us of warmer days. Plus, they are just super cute right?! :)
One of our past tutorials was for a Fox Hat and Tail – just in time for Halloween last year. We received so many positive comments on that project, especially on Pinterest, and are so pleased that so many people enjoyed it. Plus it didn’t hurt having two of the sweetest models helping us out! Kory Hagler was the costume mistress for a children’s play at a middle school in Bismarck ND called “Terrible Stunk Breath” and used our fox hat tutorial to create 2 fox costumes for it!
Kory used white and orange fleece, and buttons for the fox eyes & nose! Here’s some wonderful feedback from Kory on our pattern, “Whoever made the fox pattern and instructions did an awesome job. Pieces fit perfectly and it’s great to work with fleece and not worry about edges unraveling”. Below is a picture of Kory’s 3 year old niece rocking her fox hat – she seriously is just the CUUUTEST!! :)
Kory even used our Fox Hat Tutorial to create the skunk costumes – so creative and equally adorable!! We love how this tutorial can be interchanged for any other little creature, as Kory swapped for black fleece and some white faux fur for the skunk hat.
