Time for this week’s Thankful Thursday! Today we are featuring one of our incredible pattern designers, Melissa Corry of Happy Quilting Designs. Melissa is a wife and stay-at-home mommy of five by day, quilting enthusiast by night. Melissa and her family have moved several times across the country, but before the first move, she asked her mom to teach her how to quilt. She wanted a new hobby to keep her busy, and through it, found a new love. She began sewing baby blankets for her friends, and her passion for sewing only grew. She started Happy Quilting in 2010 and, soon after, started to design and sell her own quilt patterns.

We had the opportunity to collaborate with Melissa for our Free Projects Program, and Melissa created two fantastic projects for us. The first is our Hang Time Quilt (above in our Fresh Solids), which is a unique and modern cross quilt that features different fabric patterns and colorways perfectly. We love the intricacy of the design, which would make for a stunning quilt as a bedspread or wall decor.

As well, Melissa designed a Peaks and Valleys Table Runner for us which is a fun zig-zagged table runner that would add a bit of oomph to any coffee table or dining table decor. It looks so pretty in our Opposites Attract by Jackie McFee Collection.

Thank you so much, Melissa, for the wonderful collaboration and for the gorgeous project patterns! We are excited for what’s to come. Happy Tuesday!! We hope everyone is having a wonderful day so far. So much wind here today! The sun is out and there’s snow on the ground…but it’s freezing out there, so we’re glad to be inside. It’s the last day to enter our Fresh Solids Giveaway on our Facebook Page, so be sure to enter if you haven’t yet. It’s a good one, guys!

And speaking of our Fresh Solids…this week’s How To’s Day features our stunning solids in our New Bohemian Quilt by Sarah Laws Made. Sarah Laws created a couple of wonderful exclusive free quilt patterns for our Free Projects Program, which we are so incredibly enthused to share with you. Sarah’s style is modern and fresh, characteristics that embody who we are at Camelot Fabrics so we were thrilled to work with such a creative pattern designer. Our New Bohemian Quilt is a quilt of triangles sewn together to create a really cool pattern of intricate details and geometric shapes. The colors from our Fresh Solids are vibrant and exuberant, and work perfectly together to create this boho-inspired design.

Happy Tuesday! We hope everyone is having a splendid day. We want to take a moment today to commemorate the incredible and brave men & women for protecting our country. We thank you for all that you have do. Happy Veteran’s Day & Happy Remembrance Day!

It’s time to share another project with you, for this week’s How To’s Day! Today we are sharing our Boxy Shift Dress Tutorial. This simple, but elegant dress is the perfect thing to slip into for your next cocktail party! The shift-style of this dress is chic and pretty, and also super comfortable so you’ll be able to dance the night away…and try all the yummy food. Happy Thursday! We hope everyone is having a good day so far. We cannot believe that there are 48 days until Christmas!! So excited for everything – the pretty decorations, the shopping, the gift wrapping, the food. Ah, we can’t wait! :)

It’s time for this week’s Thankful Thursday, and today we are thanking one of our incredible pattern designers. Nikki Maroon is the crafty gal behind the blog, The Girl Who Quilts, a name that perfectly embodies who she is. The Girl Who Quilts is all about Nikki’s quilting adventures, from her latest quilt creations to her tutorials to her custom work. Nikki creates really unique and pretty pieces, and shares her story behind each design in her posts. As well, Nikki has an Etsy Shop where she makes and sells her own patterns!

We found Nikki’s blog and absolutely fell in love her design style and patterns! Scrolling through her blog, our eyes were quickly filled with lots pretty quilts and incredible embroidery work. We are so happy that we got the chance to work with Nikki on a couple of projects for our Free Projects Program. Nikki has created three custom projects for us, the first is her Octagon Pillow which is very geometrically pleasing and showcases a collection wonderfully, such as our Mixology prints.

As well, she created her Diamond Cut Pillow for us which has a lovely “window”-like effect, which a diamond middle. We love it with our Sea Life by Heather Rosas Collection. Finally, her Diamonds Quilt is like the quilt version of the Diamond Cut Pillow and we are loving the gradient effect it has with our Spectrum Collection.

We want to thank Nikki for the amazing partnership and the incredible projects! We are so honored to have worked with you thus far, and cannot wait for what is to come. It’s time for this week’s How To’s Day! Today we are featuring our Tablet Case Tutorial from Hypernoodle, a case that is equally protective and stylish for your tablet. Long gone are the days of those industrial-looking and plain cases that, yes, are functional…but really not that pretty to look at. We’ve solved that problem with our fabric case so that now you’ll want to carry your tablet with you everywhere! The slight padding adds support, and the size will fit a standard tablet. As well, the snap closure makes it easy for you to use your tablet and then store it back.

We used our Iconic by Camelot Design Studio Collection to feature our tablet case, which makes it very modern and chic. The pink and navy pairing of our case is super pretty and elegant, and makes for the perfect companion for the stylish technologist-a on the go!
