Time for this week’s What We Love #54  ♥ Yesterday was St. Jean Baptiste in Quebec, and our day was spent with the ones we love. It was a nice day out too, so it was the perfect day for a trip to the pool or a picnic at a local park. Taking time to enjoy the people who mean the most to you, doing even the simplest of things, is one of the most rewarding things in life. We love love. See what has been inspiring us this week… ♥

Hi everyone,

Happy Thursday!! I hope you all are having a fabulous day. And just in case you’re looking for an excuse to eat some sweet stuff today (we always are haha ;)), it’s National Strawberry Parfait Day! Yummm.

Time for this week’s Thankful Thursday! Today we are featuring one of our gorgeous quilt patterns, designed by Marta of From Marta With Love. Marta’s modern and fun quilt pattern features boho-inspired arrow details that go both vertically and horizontally. It creates such a cool look, while keeping the rest of the quilt neutral, to really make the arrow designs pop. This quilt pattern would work with a multitude of different fabric collections, but we just love it in our Gypsy Lane by Jane Farnham collection.

One of our display sections at this Spring’s Quilt Market was Gypsy Lane. We wanted a standout quilt design to feature this bold and whimsical collection, and knew Chevron Arrows was the winner. Another of our pattern designers Nikki Maroon of The Quilt Who Quilts and her mum, were able to quilt it for us, and did an incredible job. Just look at the quilting work on this quilt? We were speechless when we saw it in person. Absolutely stunning.

Thank you so much, Nikki and mom, for helping us out for Quilt Market. We are so in love with our Chevron Arrows Quilt, and are so blessed to work with such incredibly, talented people. Be sure to check out more from Nikki on her blog. She is such a quilting pro. If you’d like to make your own Chevron Arrows, it’s also available as a free pattern on our website. And with that, have an awesome day!

Today we are sharing our What We Love #53 ♥ We’re always looking for inspiration wherever we travel, which hasn’t been a difficult task with the summertime weather. A trip to the farmer’s market is just bursting with inspiration, from the colorful fresh fruit & veggies, vibrant cut flowers, and delicious sweets (hellooo gelato!). With the warmer months, we’ve also been loving the summer trends – airy dresses and shorter tresses are some of our faves. See what else has been inspiring us this week… ♥

Hi everyone,

Happy Tuesday! I hope you all are doing great today. Unfortunately, it’s another rainy one for us. But… that won’t stop us from celebrating National Fudge Day. Oh yes, it’s a real thing and we’re very happy about that!

On to this week’s How To’s Day! Today we are featuring a fantastic pattern that will soon become your go-to shirt, the Granville Shirt pattern by Sewaholic Patterns. The Granville Shirt pattern is a femininely tailored, button-front shirt that is an essential to anyone’s closet! The shirt features long sleeves with plackets and cuffs, a two-piece collar, and back princess seams for a flattering silhouette!

Marion of the Made by Marion Blog decided to give this pattern a go, creating her own Granville Shirt. She chose our Darling Collection; the lace in midnight as the main print and the lace in zinc for the bias facing. The pattern was wonderful to work with, but she was able to customize a couple of things. She found that she could get away with using 2 yards for the main body (which may not work for all sizes, but noted for those who may have a print from their fabric stash they’d like to use, but may be short of the 2-3/4).

Additionally, Marion chose to do a bias-faced hem instead of the double-turned hem. This allowed for the fabric to lie flatter, and therefore created a smooth curved hem. She used 1/2 yard of fabric for the bias facing. She loved how clean the shirt lines were, even when the shirt was turned inside out. The result is a the perfect styling piece, that is custom to your silhouette!

If you’re interested in making your own shirt, we definitely recommend the Grainville Shirt pattern by Sewaholic Patterns. You can find more from Marion here, and more from Sewaholic Patterns here. And with that, have a fabulous day!
