Happy Thursday! We hope everyone is having a brilliant day. It’s National Cookie Day – and all we can say to that is…where are the cookies?! Haha! Bring on the oatmeal, chocolate chip and macadamia nuts cookies pleaseee. YUM!

It’s time for this week’s Thankful Thursday! This week we are featuring one of our fantastic project designers…Stephanie Palmer of Late Night Quilter! Together Stephanie and Michelle, both fabric and quilting enthusiasts & mums, own and operate Late Night Quilter – a professional longarm quilting and pattern design company, and accompanying blog! The Late Night Quilter blog is a wonderful quilting haven that is dedicated to quilting projects and tutorials, all things modern & pretty, and longarm quilting services. They are focused on sharing their quilting tips and tricks, their latest quilting creations, and inspiring others with their love for fabric.

We had the lovely opportunity of working with Stephanie on a couple of quilt patterns for our Free Projects Program. Stephanie created three modern, whimsical quilt designs for us and we adore them all! They all embrace the esthetic that is Camelot Fabrics and showcases our fun fabric collections wonderfully. The first is a beautiful quilted pillow pattern called High Tide – a pillow design of diagonal pieces that create interesting triangle and trapezoid shapes. It’s a great pillow for showing a multitude of patterns, such as our London Fog Collection, in a cool way.

The second pattern is a stunning quilt design called Summer on the Sound, a pattern of pretty starbursts. We adore how it looks with our It’s a Bird’s Life by Heather Rosas Collection, focusing on the beautiful pinks and greens while keeping the rest neutral. Saybrook Island is another quilt pillow that creates a gorgeous, symmetrical  “leaf like” pattern – we think it looks perfect with our Mint Condition by Jackie McFee Collection! [CLICK TO SEE MORE]

The official, last Monday of August!! Today we are sharing our It’s a Bird’s Life by Heather Rosas Collection for this week’s Moody Monday. It’s a Bird’s Life brings you the majestic-ness of a beautiful and temperate field of fresh blooms. The sounds of the birds happily chirping, the smell of the luscious florals, and the feeling of the crisp air – that is all the things that It’s a Bird’s Life reminds us of. This collection is a mix of warm grey, coral, yellow, and mint hues in whimsical designs of birds, birdhouses, flowers, and geometric patterns. We could imagine a darling little girl’s half-circle skirt or little tot’s tote in this collection. And, how about a floral & bird infused quilt or two for your bedroom or living room? LOVE! One collection that reminds us of the prettiness of our It’s a Bird’s Life is that of Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring 2014 RTW Collection. Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring 2014 Collection  encapsulates a very whimsical, nature-inspired feel to it with floral vines decorating the clothing pieces and printed scenes from Greece. Gabbana describes the collection as “an unconscious dream”, as the clothing have a contrasting feel of real and what is irrational, which can only be found in dreams. We get that sense of fantasy and imagination in this collection, which inspired us with this week’s Moody Monday for It’s a Bird’s Life. It’s DAY TWO of our Summer 2014 Collections Launch Week! Did you see our first collection launch yesterday? We shared our newest license, our Paddington Bear Collection, and are obsessed with its sweetness. Be sure to check out the blog post here, as well as the full collection and free projects on our website.

Today we are sharing with you our new It’s a Bird’s Life Collection by Heather Rosas! If you imagine all the things you love most about nature, a perfect and scenic day, that is what It’s a Bird’s Life is all about. This collection is beautiful and whimsical, enchanted by gorgeous floral designs and adorable birdies. There is something wonderfully majestic about being able to run freely through an abundance of colorful blooms. The colors in this collection are soft and cheerful hues of turquoise, red, grey, and yellow making It’s a Bird’s Life feminine and vintage-esque.

We can imagine a mother-daughter duo with matching voluminous skirts and floral crowns, or a floral infused living room with a It’s a Bird’s Life table runner and pillows. A little girl would be super cute in a It’s a Bird’s Life jumper, and she’s got to have her own little purse too, of course! Also, how stunning would a floral and bird-themed quilt be? :)
