Hi everyone!

Happy Tuesday! We hope everyone is having a wonderful day so far. It’s the last day to enter our Frolicking Forest Giveaway on our Facebook Page. Be sure to enter HERE if you haven’t yet.

It’s time for our weekly How To’s Day!! Today we are sharing another one of our fantastic project collaborations with you. Jennifer Hagedorn from Tie Dye Diva Patterns created the most adorable Tunic Dress and Bloomers Play Set for us, for our Free Projects Program, and we are launching the pattern for you today on the blog. Our Tunic and Bloomers Play Set is perfect for your little girl to play around in and be comfortable, while being absolutely adorable and girly at the same time. We absolutely love the bow and ruffle details on the tunic…and pockets? Yes, please! The bloomers are just as sweet, with the added ruching and bows – oh so cute!! We chose our Petite Plume Collection because it reminds us of Spring and Summer – we can imagine a little girl playing at the park in this play set, but then also strutting her stuff at a garden party or BBQ.

Because this tutorial includes two pieces, we thought it would be easier to split it into two posts. We are going to share the Tunic Dress Tutorial in this post, and the Bloomers Tutorial should be following suite. We are so thankful that we got the chance to work with the incredibly talented Jen from Tie Dye Diva – thank you SO much for creating the sweetest of play sets for our projects. Be sure to check out all of Jen’s other patterns.

Hi everyone,

Happy Tuesday!! We hope you are having a terrific day so far. We cannot believe that we are already into August – we are still hanging onto Summer, and excited to soak up the last bits of sunshine before fall rolls around.

Time for our weekly How To’s Day!! Today we are going to share with you a simple, but very pretty, Double-Sided Headband Tutorial – perfect for adding that extra oomph to any outfit! Our Double-Sided Headband will be your go-to accessory because, with different patterns on either side, you can easily switch up your look from day to night! We love trying out new styles, so this headband is a great way to play around with new colors and patterns. As well, there are so many ways to style a headband – hair down in loose waves or straight, in a topknot, high pony, or side braid…the possibilities are endless!

We also love the idea of creating a bow with the ends for a fun & flirty look, or you can leave the ends in a simple knot. We’d love to know what your favorite way to wear a headband is! We used some of our favorite cotton collections for our Double-Sided Headband, which we found helped the headband stay in place, as opposed to anything too silky. As well, the contoured shape of the headband allows for it to easily shape around your head, and can be tied with ease.

We used our Nightfall and Mint Condition collections for two playful looks. Our Double-Sided Headband is such a fun and straightforward tutorial that we’re sure you’ll be wanting to make one in every color and design combination possible. But no worries, your hair will just always be pretty, put together, and stylish! Click HERE to see the full tutorial!

Onto this week’s How To’s Day. As you know, we have been excitedly updating our Free Projects Library on our website these past couple of months, and cannot be more proud or pleased with the current projects. They are a great mix of in-house patterns and outsourced projects from some very incredible & crafty pattern designers. Today we wanted to feature the tutorial from one of our outsourced projects by Sweetbriar Sisters because they are just the cutest things. They have been happily hanging out with us here in the Camelot Design Studio office, and they definitely make our days a little brighter. They are just too adorable!

Today we wanted to debut our Endearing Elephants Tutorial by Sweetbriar Sisters. This super sweet mother/baby elephant duo makes our hearts swoon with their lovable faces, soft and delicate ears, and bright designs. We absolutely adore how the trunks can hook onto one another, to showcase the love and bond between them. We decided to use our Fruit Stand by Jane Farnham Collection, which makes these elephants modern and pretty, perfect for an elegant nursery or kid’s room.

We have seen “fancy” toy animals in many retail stores, and they are very exquisite, but they can also be very costly. Our elephants are perfect for creating a contemporary, but fun kid’s space – great for decorating and for playing with! These elephants are truly endearing, and the girls at Sweetbriar Sisters did an incredible job. We absolutely love our new office friends, and want to thank Sweetbriar Sisters for an amazing pattern! Be sure to check out all of their other patterns here.

Hi everyone!

Happy Tuesday!! This week is our Summer 2014 Collections Launch Week, and we hope you have been enjoying our launched collections thus far. We have been posting a new collection everyday: Monday was our Paddington Bear Collection by the Camelot Design Studio, and today we launched It’s a Bird’s Life by Heather Rosas. Be sure to check out our previous blog posts on them, as well as the full collections and coordinating free projects on our website.

We have been branching into the crafting world, and now have a wonderful collection of felt! We have soft felt (printed and solid designs), hard felt (printed and solid), and adhesive felt (printed and solid) in 12×12″ pre-cuts – perfect for all your crafting and decorative needs. Our soft felt is also available by the yard, both in our printed and solid designs. Be sure to check all of our pretty felt designs and colors on our website!

In honor of our felt, we have got a very adorable and fun tutorial for this week’s How To’s Day. Today we are sharing with you our super sweet Basket of Fruits Tutorial. With all the delicious colors found in our felt collection, we were inspired to make something yummy (with names such as Melon, Raspberry, Bubblegum, and Chocolate…how couldn’t we be?). Our little fruit basket includes all of your favorites – a slice of watermelon, a banana, a pear, an apple, and a lemon – so sweet that they look almost good enough to eat.

This  felt and ad-fab™  project is perfect for playing with your little ones or for decorating a kitschy room. This would also be a great project to make with little kids; let them choose their favorite fruits and they can help cut out the shapes and glue on the pieces! It would be a fun way to spend an afternoon together. The fruit possibilities are endless, so have fun with this tutorial, and make your very own basket of yummy fruits!

Happy Tuesday! We hope everyone is having a lovely day. It is the last day to enter our Itty Bitty FQB x coordinating Aurifil Spools Giveaway on our Facebook Page, so be sure to enter if you’d like. Good Luck to everyone entering!! PS: We’ve been excitedly going through all the new summer song suggestions, and have been loving them in the office…so thank you so much! :)

It’s also time for this week’s How To’s Day! We absolutely adore Burda Style, and are often found perusing on their website and magazines for sewing and style inspiration. They have a ton of creative and beautiful content each issue, there’s always something new, and we’re always inspired! As well, their patterns are always on-trend and such an ease to work with. They have a fantastic webisode dedicated to sharing sewing tips & tricks, as well as fun project tutorials for everyone. They have an online forum and gallery where fellow sewing enthusiasts can post their newest creations, either using a Burda Style tutorial or one that they made themselves…such a great place to share!
