Hi everyone!

Happy Thursday everyone! We hope you are having a great day – the sunshine is out, the snow is melting, and we are feeling inspired! Have you entered our Bright Now Giveaway yet? We are giving away this lovely fabric stack on our Facebook page, so be sure to enter if you haven’t yet! :)

Today is this week’s Thankful Thursday! We have gotten the opportunity to work with so many creative and inspiring people, and today we are thanking someone who is definitely those two things…and much, much more! Today we are thanking one of our quilt designers, Vanessa Fromm of Fabric Confetti.

Vanessa Fromm was an avid sewer from the beginning! As a child, she shared her love for sewing with her grandmother, started to make her own clothing in junior high & high school, and even sewed her own prom dress! How amazing!! After finishing her higher education (by getting a BFA degree in medical illustration and an MBA), she began her career as a middle school English teacher. But even so, her love for sewing remained and Vanessa started getting into quilting again, and eventually machine appliqué. She started Fabric Confetti™, a business dedicated to quilt patterns, fabric appliqué designs, and yes of course – fabric confetti!

We had the privilege of partnering with Vanessa to create an exclusive quilt design for us! Vanessa created a stunning and modern Chevron Quilt for us with our What’s Cookin’ by Allison Cole Collection. The Chevron Quilt is free to download on our website, and can be found here! :)

Vanessa has such a clean and fresh design esthetic that we adore, and fits perfectly with us at Camelot Fabrics. Thank you so much, Vanessa, for creating a wonderful quilt design for us. We are very thankful for your partnership, and are very excited for all the future endeavors to come! You can find Vanessa’s patterns (and more!) on her website, Facebook, and Twitter. Vanessa is will also be at Spring Quilt Market this year (Booth 2049) – We hope to see you there!

Happy Sewing!

Hi everyone!

Happy Tuesday! How has everyone’s week been going so far? Still a little cold here, but at least we’ve been having longer & brighter days. Warmer weather is hopefully just around the corner. Have you entered our Beyond the Backyard FQ Bundle Giveaway yet? Today is the last day, so tell us what your favorite thing about Spring is on our Facebook post to enter! :)

On to this week’s How To’s Day! We’ve got another fantastic free project to share with you all. Today we are sharing our Cascading Chevrons Pillow Tutorial – an absolutely stunning, decorative pillow that is the perfect accessory for any home design. Today, decorative pillows are extremely popular and an easy way to spruce up any space but they can get really pricey. As well, finding the right pillow to fit your home décor, style, or color palette adds an additional challenge.   With today’s tutorial, we have got the solution to all those problems and more!

Our chevron pillow is polished and contemporary, would fit the esthetic of any style (just by choosing different fabric prints!), pretty simple to make with our tutorial, and definitely cost-effective. We can imagine a sleek white couch or simple daybed adorned by a couple of our chevron pillows in bright, fun fabric choices. There are endless possibilities, but that’s the splendor of this tutorial!

Hi everyone!

Happy Friday! We hope that everyone is having a wonderful end of the week. Even though it doesn’t look like Spring quite yet, we are in a springtime mood heading into the weekend. The Glitter Guide’s To-Do Spring List especially inspires us. Also, we have our Beyond the Backyard FQB Giveaway currently running so head on over to our Facebook Page to enter! :)

Also, it’s time to end this week with our Fan Friday! In the midst of the things we love about Spring, we adore all the little critters that start to come back from hibernation. There’s nothing more peaceful than a lovely park stroll, hearing the birds chirping and the rustlings of tiny animals. And while foxes are not exactly common to see in our area, unfortunately, they still remind us of warmer days. Plus, they are just super cute right?! :)

One of our past tutorials was for a Fox Hat and Tail – just in time for Halloween last year. We received so many positive comments on that project, especially on Pinterest, and are so pleased that so many people enjoyed it. Plus it didn’t hurt having two of the sweetest models helping us out! Kory Hagler was the costume mistress for a children’s play at a middle school in Bismarck ND called “Terrible Stunk Breath” and used our fox hat tutorial to create 2 fox costumes for it!

Kory used white and orange fleece, and buttons for the fox eyes & nose! Here’s some wonderful feedback from Kory on our pattern, “Whoever made the fox pattern and instructions did an awesome job.  Pieces fit perfectly and it’s great to work with fleece and not worry about edges unraveling”. Below is a picture of Kory’s 3 year old niece rocking her fox hat – she seriously is just the CUUUTEST!! :)

Kory even used our Fox Hat Tutorial to create the skunk costumes – so creative and equally adorable!! We love how this tutorial can be interchanged for any other little creature, as Kory swapped for black fleece and some white faux fur for the skunk hat.

Hi everyone!

Happy Tuesday! We hope you are doing well. With the hype of St. Patty’s Day slowly fazing out now, it only gives us more reason to start conjuring up fun ideas for Easter. Yup, we are super into the holidays if you haven’t already noticed (hehe). One of our latest How To’s days was an informative how-to tutorial on sewing on a button (the easiest of ways!) – if you haven’t seen it yet, be sure to here (It will also help with today’s tutorial!).

This week’s How To’s Day is for the most adorable corduroy, overall dress that we like to call our Tiny Adventures Dress.  This dress is perfect for any little girl who loves to explore and venture to places of great imagination, who believes in fairytales and following their dreams. That is why the name of this dress if exceptionally fitting, because wearing our overall dress can only lead to the wildest and most magical of adventures! :)

Hi everyone!

We have been working with some incredible quilt pattern designers to create exclusive and free fantastic quilt designs for our Free Projects Program. It has been such a wonderful experience being able to partner with such creative minds who have created quilt designs that perfectly encapsulate our fabric collections. Our fabric collections have a modern, fresh, and vibrant feel to them and all of our exclusive modern quilt designs showcase that.

We have so many fantastic free quilt designs on our website currently, but we have decided to post a roundup of our current quilt designs on our blog each month. This way, you can see all the new wonderful quilt designs and talent we are currently working with. You can check out all of our current designs, as well as free projects, here.
