Hi everyone,
Happy Thursday! We hope everyone is having a terrific day – we are having a gloomy thunderstorm here, unfortunately, but have our pretty fabric collections to brighten our day in the office. Be sure to check out our latest How To’s Day on the blog; we shared our adorable Endearing Elephants Tutorial by Sweetbriar Sister for Camelot Fabrics that are sure to warm your hearts :)
It’s time for this week’s Thankful Thursday. Today we are featuring one of our incredibly talented and wonderful pattern designers, Anne Sullivan of Play Crafts. Play Crafts is a one-stop destination for crafters and quilters of all skill-levels, a place where sewing enthusiasts can find the necessary tools dedicated to crafters. The goal of Play Crafts is to inspire everyone’s creativity and inner (and not-so-inner) artist! Play Craft provides crafters with fun patterns and tutorials that are easy-to-follow and beautiful, as well as a wonderful “Quilt Design a Day” (QDAD) group that allows quilters to showcase their latest quilt designs/creations influenced by different color combinations. Such a fantastic way for quilters to let their imaginations run wild.
Play Crafts is run by some very crafty people too: Anne Sullivan, Gillian Smith, and Jane Pinckard. Anne Sullivan, the Creative Director, is a creative, quilter, pattern designer, artist, and has a PhD in computer science. We had the privilege of partnering with Anne, who created some very modern and beautiful quilt designs for us. We absolutely love Anne’s clean, yet playful design style and are so thrilled with the patterns she created for our Free Projects Program. The Farm Stand Quilt is a pretty and simplistic design that showcases a fabric collection perfectly in its vertical cascade. We love how versatile this design is; we can create an ombre effect or interchange patterns of similar color palettes to create a fun look! We used Farm Stand to showcase our Fruit Stand by Jane Farnham for Camelot Fabrics Collection, and we absolutely love it!
You can download the free PDF for the Fruit Stand Quilt on our website. Be sure to check out Play Crafts for lots more – on their website, Twitter, Facebook, flickr, and Instagram. They have so much creative and innovative content, that you are sure to get inspired!! Thank you Play Craft and Anne for an amazing quilt pattern. There’s more to come as well, so stay tuned. Have a great day, everyone! :)
Happy Sewing!

Today we are launching our London Fog by Camelot Design Studio Collection! as the name suggests, London Fog is all about demureness and class. With its subdued color palette of warm grey, navy, turquoise, and mustard, London Fog reminds us of a cloudy, but cozy afternoon. Who wouldn’t love to snuggle up in a pretty quilt, with a warm mug of English Breakfast tea, listening to the rain fall? All you need are some fuzzy slippers, your cozy robe, your favorite book, and a blueberry scone or two…and you have yourself the perfect way to spend a rainy day!
There is a contemporary and elegant feel to this collection, and would make for the perfect shirt or tie pairing for your guy’s next event. And of course, we can’t forget our girls! A stunning morning robe or shift dress would be so lovely with our London Fog collection. We absolutely adore our Tumbling Jewels by the Cloth Parcel Quilt with this collection; the blue and grey hues complement one another perfectly to make a very sleek and modern quilt.

Hi everyone!
Happy Tuesday!! This week is our Summer 2014 Collections Launch Week, and we hope you have been enjoying our launched collections thus far. We have been posting a new collection everyday: Monday was our Paddington Bear Collection by the Camelot Design Studio, and today we launched It’s a Bird’s Life by Heather Rosas. Be sure to check out our previous blog posts on them, as well as the full collections and coordinating free projects on our website.
We have been branching into the crafting world, and now have a wonderful collection of felt! We have soft felt (printed and solid designs), hard felt (printed and solid), and adhesive felt (printed and solid) in 12×12″ pre-cuts – perfect for all your crafting and decorative needs. Our soft felt is also available by the yard, both in our printed and solid designs. Be sure to check all of our pretty felt designs and colors on our website!
In honor of our felt, we have got a very adorable and fun tutorial for this week’s How To’s Day. Today we are sharing with you our super sweet Basket of Fruits Tutorial. With all the delicious colors found in our felt collection, we were inspired to make something yummy (with names such as Melon, Raspberry, Bubblegum, and Chocolate…how couldn’t we be?). Our little fruit basket includes all of your favorites – a slice of watermelon, a banana, a pear, an apple, and a lemon – so sweet that they look almost good enough to eat.
This felt and ad-fab™ project is perfect for playing with your little ones or for decorating a kitschy room. This would also be a great project to make with little kids; let them choose their favorite fruits and they can help cut out the shapes and glue on the pieces! It would be a fun way to spend an afternoon together. The fruit possibilities are endless, so have fun with this tutorial, and make your very own basket of yummy fruits!

It’s also time for this week’s Thankful Thursday! Today we are featuring a wonderful and delectable craft magazine, Craft Ideas! We are such huge fans of Craft Ideas Magazine, not just for their incredible content, but also the people are the sweetest. We want to take a moment to thank Annie Niemic for being such a lovely person to work with and get to know! We have featured Craft Ideas on the blog previously, which you can check out here, but there can never be too much praise for this magazine. We love this magazine for its creative crafts, from beading to sewing to crocheting and everything else in between!
Yes, it’s still Summer but it’s never too early to start thinking about Fall and Winter decor ideas (am I right? haha!). We absolutely adore Craft Ideas’ Autumn-inspired magazine, which is giving us so many fabulous ideas for upcoming crafts for the fall season. It’s so lovely to flip through the vibrant pages and see all the warm autumn hues! There’s even a Halloween section (we are big fans of Halloween in the Camelot Design Studio…dressing up = the best thing ever!), and are excited to make the mini dracula ornaments – too cute!! If you continue to flip through the magazine, you’ll find two of our projects – our Herringbone Quilt by Christa Quilts (p.72) and our Roonie the Raccoon Pillow (p.68)!
Thank you so much Craft Ideas for featuring our projects!! They look absolutely amazing and we are so excited to see them in print. Be sure to check out Craft Ideas on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest for lots more, as well as their website for more craft inspiration! :)
