It’s time for this week’s What We Love ♥ Firstly, we cannot believe that it’s already our 20th post…time really does fly when you’re having fun!! We truly have loved sharing our What We Loves with all of you, and hope that you had been enjoying them too. We love every color imaginable, but there is something so pure and calming about white. There is a wonderful simplicity to keeping a room completely neutral, with pops of color in accent accessories – fresh, clean, and uplifting. This feeling of serenity and pureness has translated in the things we love most this week, such as this stunning botanical alphabet design and these adorable white pumpkins. Happy Thursday!! It’s been rainy and gloomy today, so we are playing some rain-inspired (but empowering!) songs in the office to lift our spirits. Time for this week’s Thankful Thursday, featuring an amazing, geek chic fashion and style blog… Set to Stunning!! Set to Stunning is run by cosplay friends Lindz and Scruffy who decided to create a blog in 2012 devoted to geek girl fashion, geek chic products and accessories, DIY projects (DIY Fridays), event interviews, and so much more! They both have a passion for all things Star Wars, Batman, cosplay, and cats that they now share on their ever-growing blog! Both girls were not fashionable types growing up, but found a love for it with being able to express their fandoms in geek chic style. As well, you’ll find them at all the major “con” events, such as San Diego Comic Con, WonderCon, and Comikaze. Their motto is “geek chic style for your alter ego” which definitely sums up the awesomeness that is their blog!

Up with all the latest trends in geek chic style, they’re always sharing new products and cool finds on their blog. In one of their latest “Picks of the Week“, they featured some of our licensed fabrics as a round-up to fabrics that would be perfect for DIY creations. So cool! They especially love our DC Comics Collection, Superman Collection, Star Wars Collection, and our latest Girl Power II Collection. As well, they’ve used our collections in their past DIYs!

Happy Wednesday! We hope everyone is having a fantastic day. Yesterday was National Dessert Day, and we may or may not currently have pumpkin pie in the office from Thanksgiving Day leftovers…Yum! We may need to have a well deserved slice after this post. Makes sense, right? haha!

Happy Tuesday!! We are back from a wonderful and restful long weekend. We hope all our fellow Canadians had a fantastic Thanksgiving weekend spent with family and friends. So much to be thankful for, including all of you – our fellow Fabric enthusiasts. We are so appreciative of all your sweet contributions and kind words.

It’s time for this week’s How To’s Day! With the rush of Quilt Market, we have been busy with sewing up new and fun projects for our booth…and we cannot wait to share them with you all!! Today we have decided to feature one of our quilts from our Free Projects Program on our website. Melissa Stramel, of Lilac Lane Patterns, is one of our fantastic quilt designers and she created a stunning, fluttery quilt design for us with our Mint Condition by Jackie McFee collection.

Our Butterfly Quilt features the subdued grey and mint patterns in a very unique way – the unexpected square placements give this quilt an intricate look, along with the little butterflies. We love how this quilt turned out, especially with our Mint Condition collection.

Happy Friday!! We hope everyone is having a wonderful end to the work week. It’s Canadian Thanksgiving this weekend, so we are so excited to spend time with our loved ones, have some great laughs, and of course, eat lots and lots of delicious food. We are thankful for so many things in our lives, it would be an endless post, so we keep it short and sweet. We want to take the time to thank our wonderful family, friends, and supporters…and of course all of you; we appreciate all of our fellow fabric enthusiasts so much. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to stop by the Camelot Fabrics blog to say hello; it really means so much to us! :)

And speaking of fabric enthusiasts, it’s time for this week’s Fan Friday! Today we are featuring Rocking Horse Design, an online shop dedicated to making handmade Lolita-style dresses and skirts in bright and fun comic & cartoon fabric designs. As well, they create customized cosplay garments which can be tailored and suited for different needs. With a love affair for cartoons and comics, it is no doubt that they would also translate that love in their fabric choices. They love Star Trek, Star Wars, Marvel, Adventure Time, and other popular comics…and choose fabric collections that represent who they are, with a modern twist.

Rocking Horse Design loves the Lolita-style of clothing, which is translated in all their designs, with a vintage flair. Their dresses have sweetheart necklines and their skirts are full, girly, and flirty. Using cartoon and comic prints, the dresses look absolutely adorable and so much fun to wear! Who wouldn’t want to look fabulous, rocking their favorite comic book or cartoon? They love our Marvel, Star Trek, and Star Wars fabric collections and chose some of our prints for their dresses. We absolutely LOVE how they turned out!
