Hi everyone!
Happy Monday! We hope everyone had a fantastic weekend. The temperature has definitely been dipping close to 0℃ here…BRR!! Not quite ready for the winter storms yet, but we’re trying to keep warm with our wool coats, knitted scarves, and ear warmers.
It’s time for this week’s Moody Monday! Our Singin’ the Blues by Jackie McFee Collection is just as the name suggests. This collection is all about pretty shades of blues in a multitude of wonderful geometric patterns. Blue is such a universally flattering color, and works well for all seasons (pacific blue for the warmer months, navy for the fall & winter!), and is always a classic. The simple, but eye-catching geometric prints in our Singin’ the Blues Collection are so stylish, and remind us of a wonderful Mediterranean vacation. Just add a touch of some blue into your house, and it will instantly lift everything up. You can see examples of projects here!
We are so inspired by Iro’s Spring/Summer 2015 Collection! This collection perfectly encapsulates where we wish we were right now. Crisp white, blue, and black are the primary colors in this tropical-inspired collection, complete with dust jackets, wide-legged trousers, and unique cut-outs. We especially adored the featured dust jacket in a stunning blue print, reminiscent of our Singin’ the Blues Collection. You can see the rest of this collection here.
We hope we have inspired you today with this week’s Moody Monday! We’d love to know what your ideal vacation would be. And with that…have a wonderful day, everyone! :)

Hi everyone!
Happy Friday!! Cheers to it almost being the weekend!! It may be one of the last weekends until the snow officially arrives here (YAY for Canadian winters…), so we are going to make the most of the pretty fall leaves and greenery. Here’s to a weekend filled with laughs, love, and autumnal happiness!
It’s time to end with our weekly Fan Friday! Today we are featuring a new, up-and-coming shop called DEEKSandME. DEEKSandME launched into the Etsy world just a couple of days ago and has already released some adorable products. Even with their recent launch, their branding is absolutely stunning…complete with a beautiful logo and packaging. DEEKSandME is all about creating quality and stylish, handmade baby items that would be wonderful gifts or for you and baby! They choose fabrics that are colorful and eclectic, with a good mix of both “girl” and “boy” modern designs. So far, they have launched their baby bandanna bibs, burp cloths, and baby infinity scarves…and every single one of them is precious!
DEEKSandME loves our What a Gem by Allison Cole Collection, and we just had to share the baby products made with our fun collection. They used What a Gem for their adorable bandanna bibs, which are made with soft coral flannel on the other side for maximum softness and absorbancy. As well, their wonderful burp cloths come in a set of three, which make for the perfect baby shower gift. And, they look very sweet with our What a Gem!
Thank you so much for the fabric love, DEEKSandME! You can check out more from this stylish baby shop at their Etsy Shop. And with that, it’s time for the weekend!! Have a fantastic one, everyone! :)

Hi everyone,
Happy Tuesday!! We hope everyone is having a lovely day so far. It’s the last day to enter our Beyond the Backyard x Westcott Giveaway, so if you haven’t entered yet, be sure to! We are giving away a Beyond the Backyard FQ bundle and two Westcott cutting tools.
It’s time for this week’s How To’s Day! Today we are featuring our Tablet Case Tutorial from Hypernoodle, a case that is equally protective and stylish for your tablet. Long gone are the days of those industrial-looking and plain cases that, yes, are functional…but really not that pretty to look at. We’ve solved that problem with our fabric case so that now you’ll want to carry your tablet with you everywhere! The slight padding adds support, and the size will fit a standard tablet. As well, the snap closure makes it easy for you to use your tablet and then store it back.
We used our Iconic by Camelot Design Studio Collection to feature our tablet case, which makes it very modern and chic. The pink and navy pairing of our case is super pretty and elegant, and makes for the perfect companion for the stylish technologist-a on the go!

Hi everyone,
Happy Monday! We hope everyone had a fantastic weekend and an awesome Halloween! There’s still time to enter our Beyond the Backyard x Westcott Giveaway on our Facebook Page, so be sure to enter if you haven’t yet. Winner will be announced on Wednesday!
It’s time to start off the week with our Moody Monday! Today we are featuring one of our newest collections from our Fall 2014 Launch, Heavy Metal by Jackie McFee for Camelot Fabrics. This collection is just as the name suggests, full of pretty metallic prints and designs. Heavy Metal includes a beautiful mix of silver and gold geometrics including chevrons, hexagonal prints, stars, dots, and animal prints. This metallic-infused collection would bring some pizzazz to any outfit, whether as a shift dress or a foldover clutch. As well, how about a glam quilt? We love the idea of a metallic quilt, perfect for a posh bed quilt or as wall decor.
Samuji‘s Spring RTW 2015 Collection brought about lots of bold colors and prints in fun Spring and Summer-inspired cuts. Intense patterns were subdued with more feminine silhouettes, neutral colors, and an Asian influence. We especially adored the use of metallics in his collection, which were reminiscent of our Heavy Metal by Jackie McFee collection. We love this simple, but classic shift dress done in a metallic chevron print. You can see the rest of Samuji’s collection here. Such a majestic, but feminine collection.
We hope you have been inspired by this week’s Moody Monday! Be sure to check out the rest of our Heavy Metal collection, and all the associated free projects, on our website. Have a fantastic day, everyone!

Hi everyone,

We’re also hosting our Beyond the Backyard FQB x Westcott Giveaway on our Facebook, so be sure to enter if you haven’t yet.
It’s also time to end another fun-filled week with our Fan Friday!! Today we are featuring an adorable project using one of our collections from the awesome blog, Say Chez. Jen Chesnick is the blogger behind Say Chez, the name sparked from her nickname “Chez” and thus became her trademark. Jen started her blog because of her love for sewing and pretty fabrics, and found blogging as an outlet to share her projects & DIYs. Apart from her love for sewing, Jen is also a scrapbooking and photography enthusiast. Jen features the projects she makes (including adorable clothing for her daughter!) and scrapbook designs on her blog.
Jen decided to create an adorable Tilly Top from Brownie Goose Patterns, and modified it slightly for her daughter. A recent discovery of how easy sleeves are to sew, Jen had so much fun with this tunic top pattern. She modified it slightly by closing the back, extending the bodice, and adding sleeves. Such a sweet touch, and the ruffles? That gets a “yes!” from us!
Jen used our Fairyville by Heather Rosas Collection to make her adorable tunic top, and we think it is just the sweetest thing ever. The girly fairy-filled prints are perfect for a little nugget who loves to be a girly-girl and play outdoors too. Her daughter is seriously the most adorable girl ever. She looks so cute in her Fairyville top. And we hope she loves her top as much as we do!!
Thank you so much for the fabric love, Jen! We are so happy you love our Fairyville Collection, and thank you for sharing it with us! Her daughter rocking her tunic is seriously the cutest thing ever. You can find more from Jen at her blog, Say Chez, as well as on Facebook, Pinterest, and Instagram. Have a Happy Halloweeeeen everyone!! :)
