Happy Tuesday!! I hope all of our fellow Canadians had a blissful and relaxing Thanksgiving weekend. We are filled with love, good memories, and lots of turkey & apple pie!

Time for this week’s How To’s Day! Today we are featuring our Chevron Quilt by Vanessa Fromm of Fabric Confetti. The Chevron Quilt is a simple, yet modern quilt pattern of horizontal chevrons. Playing with geometric shapes, the chevrons cut cool geometrics in the background which look really fun using similar-toned fabric designs. We chose to showcase our Chevron Quilt with our Fresh Solids, and love how the midnight blue chevrons pop against the sunset-colored background. This would be beautiful to decorate a bed or wall space!

Happy Thursday!! I hope you all are having a fabulous day. And just in case you’re looking for an excuse to eat some sweet stuff today (we always are haha ;)), it’s National Strawberry Parfait Day! Yummm.

Time for this week’s Thankful Thursday! Today we are featuring one of our gorgeous quilt patterns, designed by Marta of From Marta With Love. Marta’s modern and fun quilt pattern features boho-inspired arrow details that go both vertically and horizontally. It creates such a cool look, while keeping the rest of the quilt neutral, to really make the arrow designs pop. This quilt pattern would work with a multitude of different fabric collections, but we just love it in our Gypsy Lane by Jane Farnham collection.

One of our display sections at this Spring’s Quilt Market was Gypsy Lane. We wanted a standout quilt design to feature this bold and whimsical collection, and knew Chevron Arrows was the winner. Another of our pattern designers Nikki Maroon of The Quilt Who Quilts and her mum, were able to quilt it for us, and did an incredible job. Just look at the quilting work on this quilt? We were speechless when we saw it in person. Absolutely stunning.

It’s time for this week’s How To’s Day! Today we are featuring one of our exclusive quilt designs from our Free Projects Program – our Chevron Arrows Quilt by From Marta With Love. Marta from From Marta With Love created this absolutely stunning, modern quilt for us that we absolutely adore – it’s an art piece in itself that can be showcased on your favorite couch or bed, or even to decorate a blank wall. We love the perpendicular feel of the chevron arrows, giving this quilt a unique and festive look that is perfect with both contemporary or more modern fabric designs.

We decided to use our Singin’ the Blues by Jackie McFee Collection and the striking blue hues look fantastic with this quilt. It’s time for our Thankful Thursday! Today we are featuring one of our fantastically talented quilt designers, Marta of From Marta With Love! Marta has always been a sewing enthusiast, but she found her true passion with quilting in 2010. A friend had shown her how to piece a quilt block, and from there, she began reading books and blogs on quilting…and found her quilting calling! From there, she started quilting more and created her blog, From Marta With Love, as a way to document her sewing adventures. Her blog is dedicated to both quilts and crafts, and she shares sewing tutorials for quilts and bags, patterns, giveaways, and more. From Marta With Love is bright, colorful, creative, and fresh…and that’s what attracted us to the blog!

We had the pleasure of working with Marta on a quilt design for our Free Projects Program! We loved Marta’s modern design esthetic and knew she would be a wonderful addition to our pattern designers family. Marta created her Chevrons Arrow Quilt for us, and boy is it a stunner!! We absolutely love the perpendicular alignment of the chevrons in this quilt design, and the cleanness of the rest of the space. Marta used our Singin’ the Blues by Jackie McFee Collection from our Spring 2014 lines, with our Au Natural Fresh Solid, and it is soso beautiful. It’s Father’s Day this weekend, so we thought we’d share our Top 6 Last Minute Father’s Day Gift Ideas (with tutorials) for you all! Dads: the guy who taught us how to ride a bike, makes the best burgers and grilled veggies (yum!), “showed” us how to change a tire (though, we still need him for that…haha), took us for ice cream and let us have that extra scoop, and has supported & loved us unconditionally.
