Our Chalkboard Fabric Holiday Banner is perfect for organizing your party (DIY hot chocolate bar, anyone? :)), as a backdrop for a photobooth, or for adding some extra holiday cheer! We had our office Christmukkah party this past weekend, and our banner added a modern and creative element to the decor. And the best parts? It’s not too difficult to make… and it’s reusable!

Happy Wednesday! We hope everyone is having a really great day. We are absolutely loving seeing all the pretty flowers that are starting to bloom – makes us soso happy!! We cannot wait to make some springtime-inspired projects for you all. Speaking of which…have you seen our latest free tutorial? It’s time to announce our Winsday winner! Last week, we teamed up with our amazing friends at Marvy®/Uchida to give away an awesome chalkboard fabric and chalk markers prize pack!! We wanted to thank all of you who participated in our giveaway – we had a blast reading through all of your comments! You all are so creative, and came up with some really great ideas using our chalk markers & chalkboard fabric. Happy Wednesday! We are launching our Spring 2014 Collections all this week, so be sure to check the ones we’ve shared so far HERE! We really hope you have been enjoying the launches; we have been anticipating sharing them with you!

Happy Thursday! How is everyone’s day going? The Easter Bunny made a quick visit to the Camelot Design Studio today, so we are all happily working and enjoying our treats! We hope everyone has a wonderful Easter holiday this weekend, wishing you all  much happiness, love, and yummy food :)

It’s time for this week’s Thankful Thursday! Today we are going to be sharing a very exciting event that took place last week in Kitchener: Scrapfest 2014! This very fun festival brought together lots of crafty and inspiring people. There were informative workshops, engaging make-and-takes, and lots of creativity floating around everywhere!

Westcott was part of a really great Make & Take, lead by Elizabeth Glenday, and we were very honored to be a part of it too! Our Conversation Heart Banner free tutorial was used as the project, and they used our Ad-Fab™ and chalkboard fabric for the banners. We absolutely adore how they made the conversation hearts, but also Easter-inspired with the cute egg banners! It just shows how easily adaptable this project is for all celebrations and holidays.

We adore the “I made it @ Scrapfest 2014” chalkboard fabric speech bubble! Such a cute idea!! The Make & Take looked like it was SO much fun, and we heard that it was a great success. Everyone who came by enjoyed the project and putting their own spin on it! So great to see crafters of all ages having participated too!

We want to say a HUGE thank you to Brenda Greenwood-Vernem from Westcott, Paula Jones from the CHA, and Elizabeth Glenday for allowing Camelot Fabrics to be a part of a great team. We were so happy that our Conversation Hearts Banner & products were much loved at the Scrapfest event! We were super excited to hear everyone was received well and it was a success. Happy Wednesday! We hope you are all having a fantastic day!! It’s super cold here and we should be expecting a couple more centimeters of snow, we’re hoping it will be the last with the end of February nearing.

Today we are announcing the winner of our Chalkboard Fabric Giveaway! We want to thank everyone for taking the time to participate in last week’s Winsday. We wanted to know what you would create with our chalkboard fabric, and we received lots of innovative and great answers!! We have the most creative readers ever!! :)

After reading all the answers, it was definitely not an easy feat to choose just one. But alas, we can only choose one winner for our giveaway. Our chalkboard fabric winner is…

Congratulations, Lacey Dudiak!! Everyone had such creative answers, but we especially adored Lacey’s idea “I teach little ones with learning difficulties, and I would turn this chalkboard fabric into many different letter-tracing/fine-motor/spatial awareness activities! I could also use it to sew a small patch on a student’s backpack (maybe heart or star shape) to write notes or reminders on that are visible right before they leave school!  Or, I could add a fun bias edging and turn it into a multi-purpose floor mat- hopscotch, car mat, jump to the letter, etc. OK… I need this!” – We hope you enjoy our chalkboard fabric, Lacey!
