Hi everyone,
Happy Thursday! I hope you all are having a wonderful day!! Did you enter our #Winsday yet? Jackie McFee is hosting a Heavy Metal FQB Giveaway on her Pinterest, so head on over to enter!! :)
Time for this week’s Thankful Thursday! Today we are featuring a gorgeous quilt pattern that Susan of Swirly Girls Design created for us, for our Free Projects Program. Her Flying High Quilt is a playful and modernistic quilt pattern, with equilateral triangles creating a neat “flying high” design(almost like geese!). The tiered triangles are a whimsical statement on a quilt design, and you can have fun with different color palettes & patterns.
The Kitten’s Meow was one of the fabric collections we chose to feature at this Spring’s Quilt Market, and we featured Flying High. Susan was able to quilt it for us too, and we even got to meet her at Quilt Market! What a pleasure! Susan is such a talented quilter and pattern designer, and we are so happy that we have gotten to work with her! The Flying High quilt was the perfect backdrop for our The Kitten’s Meow section at the booth – one of the crowd favorites too!
Thank you, Susan, for designing such a beautiful quilt pattern for our Free Projects Program, and for quilting it for us. You ROCK!! Make your own Flying High quilt here – with the free PDF printout! You can find more from Susan at her website here. And with that, have an amazing day!

Hi everyone,
Happy Tuesday! I hope you all are doing great today. Unfortunately, it’s another rainy one for us. But… that won’t stop us from celebrating National Fudge Day. Oh yes, it’s a real thing and we’re very happy about that!
On to this week’s How To’s Day! Today we are featuring a fantastic pattern that will soon become your go-to shirt, the Granville Shirt pattern by Sewaholic Patterns. The Granville Shirt pattern is a femininely tailored, button-front shirt that is an essential to anyone’s closet! The shirt features long sleeves with plackets and cuffs, a two-piece collar, and back princess seams for a flattering silhouette!
Marion of the Made by Marion Blog decided to give this pattern a go, creating her own Granville Shirt. She chose our Darling Collection; the lace in midnight as the main print and the lace in zinc for the bias facing. The pattern was wonderful to work with, but she was able to customize a couple of things. She found that she could get away with using 2 yards for the main body (which may not work for all sizes, but noted for those who may have a print from their fabric stash they’d like to use, but may be short of the 2-3/4).
Additionally, Marion chose to do a bias-faced hem instead of the double-turned hem. This allowed for the fabric to lie flatter, and therefore created a smooth curved hem. She used 1/2 yard of fabric for the bias facing. She loved how clean the shirt lines were, even when the shirt was turned inside out. The result is a the perfect styling piece, that is custom to your silhouette!
If you’re interested in making your own shirt, we definitely recommend the Grainville Shirt pattern by Sewaholic Patterns. You can find more from Marion here, and more from Sewaholic Patterns here. And with that, have a fabulous day!

Hi everyone,
Happy Monday! I hope you all had an awesome weekend!! It was such a gorgeous weekend here, and was happily spent by the pool and at the farmer’s market (fresh veggies for a BBQ = yum!!) :)
Starting off our week with our Moody Monday! Today we are featuring one of our Spring 2015 collections, Little Bird by the Camelot Design Studio. Little Bird is a girly and dainty collection of pretty birdies, mushrooms, and confetti dots in mint, pink, gray, and taupe hues. This gentle, whimsical collection would make for an adorable little girl’s room, complete with soft pink and mint pillows, tabbed curtains, and a cozy quilt spread. As well, we can imagine a little girl twirling in her own Little Bird dress – fit for a birthday or garden affair! Andddd…the lightness of this collection makes it perfect for our double gauze. Hello shirts, skirts, scarves, swaddling blankets…and more!
Jill Stuart is one of our absolute favorite designers, and her Spring 2012 RTW collection was definitely one to remember! The colors were so feminine – coral, pinks, yellows, and mints – and together worked flawlessly as an overall palette. Next, the mixture of different textures were playful – tweed and chiffon works so well together! There was an overall 60’s style feel to the collection, with the hourglass shapes, billowy shift dresses, and side swept bangs. One of our favorites was this dress, that was reminiscent of the bird prints in Little Bird.
We hope we’ve inspired you with today’s post! Summer is officially this Sunday, so we’d love to know what trends you’ve been loving for the warmer months. Have a great day!

Hi everyone!
Happy Friday! I hope you all are feeling fine and fantastic, but if not, it’s just about the weekend! And that’s something to celebrate!! I think there may even be some gelato in the office today. Hmm… ;)
It’s time to end our week with our Fan Friday! Today we are sharing a super sweet ruffled party dress, featuring our Scented collection, from Sophia Gracie Couture. Sophia Gracie Couture is an Etsy Shop of the most beautiful of handmade, girl and boy garments. Each design is custom and created by Lee, in her home’s sewing studio in the North of Ireland. She is often inspired by her own daughter, Sophia, of dresses and outfits she would love most. Sophia is also her mama’s little model – how cute! Lee notes, “I take great pleasure in producing garments that are one of a kind, and made with great care and attention to detail, so that each garment is durable and also in some cases adjustable!”.
Lee designed the sweetest (pun intended! ;)) of little girl dresses, her Ruffle Party Dress, that is perfect for a tea party or day in the park. The dress features cap sleeves, four frills alternating between print & solid color fabric, and a button & loop back closure. She chose the strawberry print of our Scented collection, which her daughter says smells like sweeties! Which little girl wouldn’t want to twirl around in a pretty dress, smelling as sweet as they look! :) The dress can also be custom ordered in our other Scented collections, so if your little one prefers apple, grape, or watermelon – there’s a dress for her too!
Thank you, Lee, for the fabric love and for sharing your dress with us on Instagram. We are so happy you love our Scented as much as we do. And, it seriously is such a sweeeet dress!! If you create a project using our fabric collections, we’d love to see! You can send your photos to us or tag us on Instagram. Have an awesome weeeekend!!
