To end this week, we have got our Fan Friday!! Today we’ve got another incredible project to share with you all – Yana from Hemming Birds created a gorgeous half-apron that is absolutely perfect with our Iconic Collection. Yana made this wonderful half-apron as a wedding shower gift for her best friend, Melissa, who resides in New York City.

The design is loosely based on a vintage apron Yana had seen in an antique store. It’s also reversible…AND has pockets (We love ANYTHING with pockets here at CF!). She chose our Iconic Collection for its more modern esthetic, and it is honestly a perfect pairing with this half-apron. And I mean, who wouldn’t want to bake up a batch of oatmeal, chocolate chip cookies in this adorable apron? :)

Yana and her sister-in-law, Jennifer, started their blog Hemming Birds to share their passions for cooking, baking, and sewing as well as mom/family-related topics. Moreover, they will be opening up a handmade shop in May, which will be featuring handmade children’s accessories – bibs, girl’s handbags, backpacks, aprons, and more! They have also posted the tutorial for this half-apron on their blog, so be sure to check it out. What’s even more exciting is that you could win your very own Iconic Apron on their blog – so be sure to enter the giveaway for your chance! Happy Wednesday!! We hope everyone is having a fantastic day so far! Today is actually National Peanut Butter & Jelly Day! We could definitely go for a classic PB&J sandwich and a glass of cold milk right now. Yummy!! :)

Happy Tuesday! It is also the first of April today!! And April Fools Day! Did anyone try pulling a prank on someone else or got a prank pulled on them? :) We love a brilliant joke or prank here in the office, as long as it’s all in good fun! Happy pranking! :)

We are starting off April with this week’s How To’s Day. Today we are going to share with you another one of our quilt designs – Our Flying High Quilt by Swirly Girls Design for Camelot Fabrics. This quilt design is playful and modernistic, with the triangles creating an awesome “flying high” pattern (almost like geese!) that works wonderfully with our Take Flight Collection. The tiered triangles also give this otherwise simple and clean design more of a bold statement!

This quilt design would look fantastic with any collection, and is perfect as a kid’s quilt or for snuggling with on the couch, but we especially adore it with our Take Flight Collection. You can get the PDF version of this tutorial on our website, in the our Free Projects Program section, but today we are going to share the tutorial with you on the blog. Happy Wednesday! How has everyone’s week been going? March is National Craft Month, and as the end of the month is almost near, we are reflecting on all the fun projects we have created this month. In March we have shared four new free project tutorials (How to Sew a Button, Our Plus Sized Quilt, Tiny Adventures Dress, and Our Cascading Chevrons Pillow), as well as our exclusive, outsourced free quilt patterns. We also have a roundup of all our recent quilt patterns in a blog post here.

It’s time to announce our Beyond the Backyard FQ Bundle Giveaway winner! We wanted to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who participated in our giveaway. Happy Monday! We hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. It was Spring Forward yesterday, so although we will get the benefit of having more sunshine throughout the day…getting up to having lost an hour on Sunday was definitely not fun. Alas, this only means that Spring is coming soon! :)

Let’s start off this week with our Moody Monday! Today we are inspiring you with our Fox Friends by Allison Cole collection, from Winter 2014. Fox Friends is another one of our kid-friendly, novelty collections that we just absolutely adore!! The main hues in Fox Friends are pink, mint, red, and brown creating a very sweet and ethereal feel to the collection. The adorable foxes, friendly clouds, and gentle birds make this a very happy and quirky collection, perfect for all the tiny adventurers you know! Fox Friends would make the prettiest dresses and skirts, or a woodsy themed bedroom! Imagine some lovely curtains, pillows, or girly quilt with our Fox Friends collection…oh how cute right?!! One fashion collection that is inspiring us this week is Calvin Klein’s  Spring 2014 RTW collection. The colors in his latest collection are soft and subtle, but with tiny splashes of color that make a statement. The main color palette of this collection is green hues, pinks, creams, and browns. The mixture of these soft colors are very springtime and vacation appropriate, with a very relaxed and beach-y feel.

We especially love this outfit, as well as this one and this one as they especially encapsulate the mood of Fox Friends. The feel of this collection and choices in hues reminds us of our Fox Friends by Allison Cole color palette. You can check out the full collection here.
