Hi everyone,

Happy Wednesday! We hope everyone is having a great mid-week!! Also, to all our fellow sewing & fabric enthusiasts, Happy Sewing Day!! And since it’s a holiday (pretty much, right?), it gives us all the more reason to put in some extra sewing time today. If you’re working on any projects, we’d love to know! :)

It’s time to announce our Winsday winner today! Last week, we hosted our Neon & On FQB Giveaway on our Facebook Page…and had a wonderful response! It’s back-to-school season so we wanted to know what creative back-to-school project you would create with Neon & On. It’s a fun and bright collection, so it was awesome getting to see all of your unique ideas! You always inspire us with your ideas and comments, and we always have a blast interacting with everyone. But of course, we could only choose one winner. So the lucky winner of our Neon & On FQB is…

Hi everyone!

Happy Monday everyone! We hope you all had a restful weekend. We are sure many of you already have a jump-start on costume-making, but there are officially 53 days until Halloween!! We love Halloween in the Camelot Design Studio, but we need to start brainstorming on what we are going to be this year… Oh, psst: we are also giving away an FQ bundle of our Neon & On by Jackie McFee Collection on our Facebook this week.

More inspiration for you with our Moody Monday! Today we are featuring our wonderful Paddington Bear by the Camelot Design Studio Collection, from Summer 2014. Our Paddington Bear brings us so much nostalgia, to snuggling up with our mums for bedtime reading a Paddington Bear story. The colors were always so beautiful, the pages filled with so many wonders, and the stories were always magical. It was such a fantastical experience getting to flip through the pages of a Paddingbear Bear book with mum, followed by our sweet, adventure-filled dreams…

And even now, as we are older, the magic of Paddington Bear still carries with us in our adulthood…so hearing that there is a Paddington Bear Movie coming out on Christmas Day this year brought us back to the good ol’ days. Our Paddington Bear collection brings us that same nostalgia with the pastel color palette, watercolor-esque designs, and of course, the loveable Paddington. You can check out the full collection here.

NYFW is in full swing this week, and we have excitedly been watching all the wonderful shows (from the comfort of our own homes haha). It’s always so much fun seeing what new trends and color palettes will ensue from the shows, for the next seasons. One inspiring color palette is that of Miu Miu’s Fall/Winter 2014 collection – the muted blue, yellow, and rose colors definitely reminded us of our Paddington Bear collection. We absolutely adore the softness of colors in this collection, mixed with stronger fabrications – twill, herringbone, and velvet – with a sports-inspired twist. You can check out the full collection HERE.

We hope you have enjoyed this week’s Moody Monday, and have inspired you! If you have been keeping up with NYFW, we’d love to know which are your current favorite shows. Have a great day! :)

Hi everyone!

Happy Friday!! We hope you all had a fantastic week. But guess what? It’s almost the weekend!! And what else that is awesome is our giveaway – we are giving away a Neon & On FQ Bundle on our Facebook Page this week. Be sure to head on over there to enter! :)

Time to end another fun week with a Fan Friday post! Today we are featuring Simply Stitched by Sara, an Etsy shop dedicated to providing high-quality, handmade baby essentials such as baby blankets, bibs, burp cloths, hand-cut appliqued clothing, and more! Sara Sebero Bryant, owner and creator of Simply Stitched by Sara, loves modern fabric designs with bold, bright, and fun prints & colors. She chooses and uses these fabrics for her baby essentials, making them equally fabulous and on-trend. Sara is also a stay-at-home mommy of two and military wife & veteran. She learned how to sew at a young age, sitting on her mother’s lap while she sewed…and her passion for sewing only grew as she did. She was able to turn her passion into a business, creating unique baby essentials and sharing them with the world.

Sara loves our What a Gem and Penelope Collections, and used them in her designs. We thought they were beautiful, and just had to share her creations with all of you. The first is a baby bandana, which is as adorable as it is stylish. The baby bandana is “a creative and unique alternative to the traditional bib – the bandana bib will have your little one drooling in style, while keeping them dry”. We love the idea, and we definitely agree that any little one will be rocking with style in our What a Gem collection.

The next project we absolutely adore is this Luxurious Chenille Burp Cloth, with our Penelope collection. In addition to being gorgeous and cuddly, this burp blanket is “designed for the hip, trendy parents on the go to withstand the ickiest and messiest of spills and spits”. Any baby using this chenille burp cloth will definitely feel posh and comforted! LOVE!!

We want to thank Sara for the major fabric love!! We are so happy that you love using our fabrics, and that you have made such beautiful pieces with them. Be sure to check out Sara’s Etsy Shop, as well as her Facebook Page for a lot more goodies. Have a fantastic weekend, everyone!! :)

Hi everyone!

Happy Thursday! We hope everyone is having a fantastic day so far. This week, we are giving away our Neon & On FQ Bundle on our Facebook Page. We want to know what back to school inspired project you would create with this bundle. Let us know for a chance to win HERE! :)

For this week’s Thankful Thursday, we are featuring a blog that we are sure all our fellow sewers and bloggers visit as their go-to crafting manual – Sew Mama Sew! It has been a couple of months, but we are ever so thankful that we wanted to properly thank everyone involved for the incredible feature. Sew Mama Sew is the motherboard of all things craft and sewing-related, from easy-to-follow and creative tutorials, fun and engaging sew-alongs, and the best of giveaways! Their tutorials include stunning dress patterns to quilted projects to tips & tricks for beginners, and everything in between. If you’re looking for it (at least craft-wise), Sew Mama Sew has got it!!

One amazing thing about Sew Mama Sew is the consistent contributors on the blog, featuring fellow bloggers and crafting enthusiasts alike. Sew Mama Sew partnered up with Warp & Weft and Thread Riding Hood to showcase an amazing project (and a giveaway!) with two of our fabric collections. We were so thrilled and over-the-moon to the see our fabric collections used, and featured on some very cool blogs. Made us feel pretty cool ourselves, haha. The fantastic project was sponsored by Warp & Weft, a fabric retailer and fellow Canadian (yay, represent!), so thank you SOSO much for the fabric love.

Sherri of Thread Riding Hood (um, how adorable is her blog name?!) is the creative behind the project. She created a beautiful Fabric Tray, perfect for holding all your project items (thread, thimble, scissors, etc), or for keeping all your essentials in one place before you leave. The pretty patchwork design gives this Fabric Tray a modern and fun feel, which goes fabulously with the bright colors of our Petite Plume by Andrea Turk for Cinnamon Joe Studio and Beyond the Backyard by Jane Farnham collections.

Love it!!! This Fabric Tray tutorial is perfect for any extra fabric scraps (we all know we hoard a bunch of those!) laying around. Your scraps will find a new home and will be made into something really pretty and functional. You can find the full tutorial for this Fabric Tray on Sew Mama Sew’s blog, as well as at Thread Riding Hood.

We know we are a little late, but we want to say an official HUGE THANK YOU to Sew Mama Sew, Warp & Weft, and Thread Riding Hood for choosing our collections to showcase a wonderful project. We were so ecstatic to see our pretty collections, and are so happy you love them too. You can check out our Beyond the Backyard and Petite Plume collections on our website. Please be sure to check out their blogs for lots more creative and beautiful goodness!! Have a great one! :)

04 September

Hi everyone!

Happy Tuesday! We hope everyone had a wonderful and restful long weekend. It was the perfect couple of days of beautiful weather and relaxation, the best way to start off September. We still can’t believe that we’re already into September, but excited for everything to come.

Starting off September with an awesome How To’s Day! There are still a few weeks left of Summer, so this week’s How To’s Day is perfect for soaking up those last couple of days of warm weather and greenery. Today we are featuring our Insulated Lunch Hamper Tutorial on the blog, a stylish and practical bag that would be fantastic for a last Summer picnic or beach day. But even as fall and winter rolls around, our Insulated Lunch Hamper can be used to keep all your hot food and drinks warm. Here’s to fun days in the snow, followed by delicious hot cocoa!

Our Insulated Lunch Hamper is insulated with our Spacetex, so it’s great for storing both hot and cold items. As well, the nylon is water-resistant so you can easily wipe away any condensation with a cloth. There are also three inner compartments, so there’s extra storage to organize your goodies. We used our Mint Condition by Jackie McFee Collection, which we think looks super pretty and fresh with the crisp mint and grey designs. No more lugging around heavy picnic baskets or boring coolers – take our Insulated Lunch Hamper on your next romantic park picnic or kid’s hockey match, and you’ll be equally organized and trendy!
