It’s time for our Thankful Thursday! Today we are featuring one of our awesome quilt designers who recently launched a new quilting book. Jessie Kurtz of Harding Hill Designs, who designed our beautiful Crossroads Quilt, released her new book at Spring Quilt Market: One Block Remix – 10 Fresh Quilts from One Traditional Block.

The book, available in her Etsy Shop, features quilts that use a traditional 2-1/2″ strip block, but modernized into fun and different quilts, ranging from crib-sized to king. Such a brilliant concept, using the same block to make unique quilts. We were happy to send Jessie some fabric for her quilts, and love how they turned out!

The first is her Downtown Criss Cross Quilt, which features our Rise & Shine Collection. We love how the blues and yellows pop against the solid black! The second quilt featuring Camelot Fabrics is her Uptown Turnaround Quilt, with Wildflowers by Alisse Courter. Who knew equilateral triangles could be so fun!!

Happy Tuesday! I hope you all are having an amazing day!!

For today’s How To’s Day, we are featuring one of our exclusive quilt patterns from our Free Projects Program. The Butterfly Quilt was created by the incredibly talented Melissa Stramel, of Lilac Lane Patterns. Melissa has now expanded her patterns to clothing and accessories, for women and little girls…and their dollies! But, we are obsessed with her Butterfly Quilt, which gives a unique flair to a quilt pattern. The little triangles throughout the pattern look like butterflies, which may seem complicated, but in the end – a super neat effect.

We love a contrast between the butterflies and the background, so that the butterflies really pop! Imagine a white quilt with solid colored butterflies?! That would be so so coooool. We decided to feature the Butterfly Quilt at our booth for Spring Quilt Market, in our popular Botanical room. The quilt displayed as a backdrop to the room (and because of its size, was a real showstopper!). It really made everything come together.

Vicki Reubel of Orchid Owl Quilts did such an incredible job quilting the Butterfly Quilt. We received so many compliments on the design and quilt work – so thank you to both Melissa and Vicki! You both rock!! Now… want to make your own Butterfly Quilt? Click MORE to see the full instructions.

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend. It was Quilt Market weekend for us, and boy, was it an incredible one!! We have SO much to share with you..so stay tuned for a QM recap post on the blog.

Time to start off the week with our Moody Monday! Not sure if you noticed some new pretties on our website, but we’ve launched our Spring 2015 Collections last week. We’ll be posting about each collection on the blog soon, but if you’d like to check them all out, be sure to have a look at our New Arrivals. Magnolia is one of our newest collections, by Alisse Courter for Camelot Fabrics. Magnolia is a gorgeous mustard, grey, and pink collection of pretty florals and leaf prints. The soft and feminine patterns make this collection perfect for an equally feminine project – a brunch dress or baking apron would look wonderful in these prints.

Giamba’s Spring 2015 Collection was ethereal and feminine, just like Magnolia. Lots of beautiful floral prints and soft pastels dressed each model, each with a 70s twist – complete with platforms and dotted tights. We were especially intrigued by this dress, which was reminiscent of our Magnolia Collection with the soft pink floral pattern. Love!

Happy Wednesday! I hope you all are having a wonderful Winsday!! Today is also National Apple Pie Day – uhhh, YUM! There’s never been an apple pie I had that I did not like. Nothing better than a warm slice of apple heaven, wrapped up in a flaky crust and some ice cream…

Time to announce the winner of our Mother’s Day Winsday! This week, we hosted a Wildflowers FQ Bundle Giveaway on our Facebook Page, inspired by our mums for Mother’s Day. We asked you what your favorite mommy-and-me memory was, whether as a child or more recent. We had so much fun reading all of the replies, and am sure it took you all down memory lane a bit… It was also a great way for us to think about our favorite moments with our moms. Happy Wednesday!! I hope you are all doing fantastic today. Interestingly, today is National Beverage Day...my favorite drink of choice on a hot, sunny day would have to be good ol’ lemonade. Yum! What is yours?

Another Wednesday, means that it’s Winsday time! Just in time for Mother’s Day this weekend, we’re hosting a Mother’s Day Giveaway on our Facebook Page.
