Hi everyone
Hope you had a fantastic weekend!
I had a tough one! I finished closing my quilt shop which was a bittersweet moment. I had opened the shop twelve years ago as I wanted to take time off my career to have kids. Now that I have three wonderful boys that are all in school, I felt the urge to get back on track with my career. So here I am now at Camelot Fabrics.
But on Sunday night, I was very sore from moving so much furniture and boxes (I still have no idea where I will store all my lovely quilts!) so I indulged in a bubble bath with soothing lavender. Who can resist lavender? As I relaxed, I started thinking of my next day at work and I chose at that instant what would be featured on our moody Monday blog:
The Lavishmnint collection
By Jackie McFee
This collection will surely be a hit in your next project. I can just imagine a baby quilt or summer dress and why not make pin cushions filled with lavender scented ground walnut shells.
Be sure to check out the full collection of Lavishmint in your local quilt shop. Click here to find the one nearest your home.
Let us know what you think of the collection and what you would make with it!

This week we hosted our Heirloom Collection Fat quarter giveaway on our Facebook Page. We wanted to know:
What is your favorite quilt pattern?
Thanks to all of you that answered the survey. I have taken the time to review the over 500 comments and was surprised to see the variety in your answers. But some patterns do hold a special place in our hearts: the log cabin, turning twenty ans samplers did come up quite a few times. And some modern quilters that can’t follow a pattern! I will keep this in mind when we will be choosing new patterns for Fall.
So thank you for playing along on our winsday.
And now, of course, the winner of our Heirloom bundle is:
Hermien Dugan
Congratulations!
Hermien, if you can please email us your mailing address to designstudio@camelotfabrics.com by May 11th, 2016. We cannot wait to see what you create with the bundle. Please send us a picture for our Fan Friday blog!
And a huge thank you to everyone who entered!!
Stay tuned for next week’s Winsday…

Hi everyone,
Happy Tuesday! I hope you all are having an amazing one.
Remember our Moody Monday blog? I mentioned I wanted to make a special quilt for my sister in law who loves Mickey Mouse? As I am sure many of you are going to have to make a quilt featuring the Mickey Mouse & Friends collection. I thought it would be best to have the quilt featured in today’s How To’s Day.
The quilt pattern is from one of our quilt designers, Christa Watson of Christa Quilts. The Herringbone Quilt is a very classic and clean design. Christa has great tips to help you make the quilt on her blog, including how to work with directional fabric! We love this post because it really helps fine-tune the details of a finished quilt’s look.
You can check out the free printable PDF of this quilt pattern on our website. We hope you enjoy!

On to our Moody Monday!
This week we are featuring our Mickey Mouse & Friends Collection by the Camelot Design Studio for Disney. This fabric collection combines the vintage charm of Mickey and his friends with a modern look. The colorways provide a wide range of possibilities for your crafting, sewing and quilting projects.
I can already imagine myself making a lovely little girl’s dress, placemats for lunch at work, pillows for the kids and something extra special for my sister in law that is the biggest Mickey Mouse fan! Do you have one in your family? What would you make for them?
Be sure to check out the full collection of Mickey Mouse & Friends in your local quilt shop. Click here to find the one nearest your home.
