The Force is Strong Insulated Lunch Bag by brookiellen, featuring Camelot Fabrics’ Comic Book Covers fabric.

Who is your favorite Star Wars character? “First of all, I never saw the Star Wars movies until I met my husband (yeah, I know…seriously).  Better late than never, right?  This was mostly due to a story my dad had me believing for years.  When I was little he had this black and white photo of a scary looking old man in a robe, standing in the woods.  He told me that this man lived in the woods behind our house.  Of course I believed him and was terrified.  Then I remember seeing a movie poster (not realizing at the time it was for The Empire Strikes Back) and this same scary looking man was on it.  Once I got a little older, I found out that the photo of the “scary looking old man living in the woods behind my house” was actually my uncle wearing an old robe and a YODA mask.  Thanks Dad!  For this reason, Star Wars will always hold a special and strange place in my childhood memories.  This is comical especially now because after actually watching the movies, Yoda has become one of my favorite characters.”

Who is you favorite Star Wars character? “My favorite character is Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan Kenobi.  And I love that I can watch Star Wars with my whole family and see my kids fall in love with it as much as I did as a kid.”

sheseamslikeit

Large Bow Tote Bag bySheSeamsLikeIt, featuring Camelot Fabrics’ Star Wars Characters in Quilting Blocks fabric.

Why do you love Star Wars? “The reason I love the Star Wars saga is because anyone can connect with it. Young children are introduced to an exciting space adventure in a galaxy far, far away, as well as colorful action scenes between the Empire and the Republic. Adults may find themselves identifying with the struggles of each character, Dark Side or Light. It is easy to find ones-self identifying with a character from the Star Wars universe because there is a complete spectrum of character types. Whether one feels as regal as Princess Leia or as romantically aloof as Han Solo, as cuddly as Chewbacca or as robotic as R2-D2, there’s someone for everyone. It’s hard to choose just one, but my all-time favorite character has got to be C-3PO. He is so effortlessly funny, and don’t get me started about always getting to wear GOLD!”

31 August

Hi everyone,

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a marvelous weekend. We’re hosting our A Marsala Moment Giveaway this week, so be sure to check it out. Marsala, copper, blue, and orange hues – it’s a collection that is sure to dazzle your next project.

Starting our week with our Moody Monday! This week, we are sharing with you our Nordic by Camelot Design Studio collection. Inspired by Scandinavian style, our Nordic collection is soft, clean, and all kinds of gorgeous. Muted blush and greys combine together to create geometric prints of swiss crosses, ikats, and funky diamonds. Such a modern and clean collection, that we absolutely adore!

SO much love for Thakoon’s Spring 2015 Collection! His collection was so feminine and pretty, combining lots of different prints and textures. His main print was a gorgeous mix of eggplant and marsala tones, to create a wonderful feminine design. As well, silk, chiffon, and tassels were among the other mediums he used to create his eclectic collection. We especially adored this graphically interesting cropped number, which was reminiscent of our Nordic Collection.

We hope we have inspired you with today’s Moody Monday! We love a graphic and bold print. Have a fantastic rest of the day!

Happy Sewing!
