Hi everyone,
Happy Friday! So excited that it’s just about the weekend. We’ve made it through our first week back!! We hope everyone had a pleasant one :)
It’s time to end the week with our Fan Friday! Today we are featuring a stunning Nightfall Dress created by the awesome sewing-related blog, Sew It Up. Sew It Up is run by two crafty ladies, Caroline, who owns her own business, and Hanne, a part-time visual arts/sewing teacher. They created Sew It Up to showcase their creativity and love for all things sewing & fabric related. They offer sewing contests for those in Belgium and the Netherlands, with different themes, where participants can join in and share their creations. Each participant is able to showcase their unique talents and skills, and allows them to come together in the ever-growing sewing community. We think that is such a fantastic idea, and love the idea of showcasing others’ talents to fellow sewers.
A recent contest was to create a New Year’s Eve inspired outfit! They created a stunning party dress with our Nightfall Collection and we just had to share it with you all! They used the Kim Dress Pattern by By Hand London which looks incredible with our metallic fabric. From the sweetheart neckline to the semi-capped sleeves to the pockets, everything about this dress is oh-so-lovely and the epitome of being the perfect party dress. We adore how sophisticated it becomes with the simple addition of a blazer. But on it’s own, the metallic printed fabric definitely gives this dress “knockout” status. It is divine!
We want to thank Sew It Up for the fabric love – we are so happy that you love our fabric and chose it for your NYE party dress! We are so happy that we got to see the dress. Seeing our fabric collections turn into physical projects is the best feeling in the world! You can check out more from Sew It Up and their contests on their blog, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram.
And if you ever create a project with one of our Free Projects or fabric collections, we would LOVE to see. You can also send your pictures to info@camelotfabrics.com. Have a fantastic weekend, everyone!

It’s time for this week’s Fan Friday, and it also happens to be the last Fan Friday…of 2014! Today we are featuring some adorable dolls that we found on Instagram from Heather. When we saw them, we squealed with the amount of adorableness and knew we just had to share! Heather comes from a family of quilters, and she taught herself to sew in 2006. It wasn’t long before she discovered doll making and knew she had found her niche in the sewing world. She opened up her Etsy Shop, Handmade by Heather, to share her dolls with others who will cherish them as much as she had making them.
Heather pays great attention to detail when making her sweet dolls; each handcrafted with lots of love, as well. She chooses fabrics that are bright and modern for their clothing. She also makes the sweetest mermaids that we are just head over heels for! Soso cute!!
Heather chose some of our collections for her dolls’ clothing, such as our Penelope and Mint Condition by Jackie McFee collections. They work wonderfully to bring her dolls to life, looking all sorts of stylish and pretty in their outfits!! :)
We want to thank Heather for choosing our fabrics! We are so happy you love our designs!! You can find these adorable dolls, and more from Heather, at her shop Handmade by Heather. You can also check out her Facebook Page and Instagram. Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!

Hi everyone,
Happy Friday! We hope you have been enjoying your week – it’s almost the weekend!! With our winter wonderland, we’re thinking of staying indoors with a good book and some hot cider by the fireplace this weekend. Ahh, bliss. We’ve been super into the holiday spirit, and are having a cookie exchange at the office today – sugar cookies, toffee & white chocolate cookies, ginger cookies,…oh yum! :)
It’s time for this week’s Fan Friday! Today we are featuring some wonderful Star Wars pouches by Jolene Ko that we found on Instagram, and just had to share. Jolene loves to sew and create, and chooses fabric collections that are cool, unique, and on the quirky side. She shares her current creations on her Instagram, as well as her other social media sites, and is in the processing of developing her own products. We saw this zipper pouch (seen below) that Jolene tweaked from this tutorial, and thinks it is awesome!
Jolene chose our Angry Birds Star Wars and Star Wars Collections to create her zipper pouches, and we adore the designs that she chose. The pouch would be the perfect thing to organize a larger handbag, keep your receipts together, or for keeping your tablet safe. It would also make for a great gift! Such lovely pouches, Jolene!! :)
Thank you so much for tagging us on Instagram, Jolene! You can follow her on Facebook Page to get updates of her new ventures, as well as on Pinterest and her blog. Have a great weekend, everyone!

Hi everyone,
Happy Friday! We hope everyone had a great week – any fun plans for the weekend? We’re hoping for some mild weather, with a touch of pretty flurries, so that we can go skating! Yup, the winter can be horrid…but there are definitely a lot of fun that comes with it too. Getting excited for all the winter activities!
It’s time to end our week with our Fan Friday! This week, we are featuring an awesome project from Isabelle Lachance. Isabelle loves making things with fabrics of fun, bright colors and nostalgic cartoons. She is a fabric enthusiast and enjoys making things & sewing, and decided to open up an Etsy Shop to share her creations. Creationilo is the name of her shop, which perfectly encapsulates her love for being creative and unique, handmade items.
She adores our Betty Boop Collection and decided to use our yellow filmstrip design to create a fun, placemat pouch. It is such a great and multi-purposed idea – you can carry your utensils in your lunch bag and use it as a placement, all in one! We love the convenience of her placemat pouch, and adore the vibrant, yellow Betty Boop print she chose. The pop of hot pink is a fantastic touch too!
You can check out Isabelle’s Etsy Shop for her awesome Betty Boop placement pouch, as well as for more cool goodies. Thank you for the fabric love, Isabelle – we are so glad you love our Betty Boop Collection! And have a wonderful weekend, everyone! :)

Hi everyone!
Happy Friday!! Happy Black Friday to all the brave souls who are out today, on the hunt for the best deals. We are in Canada, but the hype of Black Friday has translated here too…but we will be in the comfort of the indoors today lol.
Time to end our last week of November with our Fan Friday!! Today we are featuring an awesome Etsy Shop called Little Alligator. Little Alligator is an adorable little shop started by Jelaine, a mother of two little boys living in Melbourne, Australia. Her littlest son, Elliot, sparked the name of her shop because, as a baby, he was charming and strong…like a little alligator. Such a cute story! Jelaine always had a passion for sewing, fabric, and all things crafty. She decided to pick up her love for sewing again after her children were born, and started making toy bags.
She slowly began to replace her plastic toy boxes with her handmade bags, amongst other handmade creations for her family. Little Alligator was the start of another dream of hers, to have her own business and work from home. Jelaine creates beautiful, handmade library bags, toy bags and wet/swim bags, with an option to personalize them with unique hand stamped labels. This new venture has now become the best of all worlds for Jelaine!
Jelaine adores What a Gem Collection and chose it for her beautiful Library Bag! Here are some words from her: “Although I have a natural inclination toward ‘boyish’ colours and themes, I also like to include neutral fabrics to suit everyone. When making girls bags, I love using shades of greens and blues and so when I saw Allison Cole’s “What A Gem” collection I just fell in love and knew it would be perfect for my range! I adore the dreamcatcher design with the stunning emerald, navy and touches of pink and chose these for my large drawstring bags”
We absolutely love the bags, and they look wonderful in our What a Gem Collection. Thank you so much, Jelanie, for sharing them with us! You can find more from Jelanie at her Little Alligator Shop, as well as on Facebook, Pinterest, and Instagram. Have a fantastic weekend!
