I met the talented team last Fall at Houston Quilt Market and immediately fell in love with their quilt patterns.  So imagine my surprise to see their Canyon Boulevard quilt pattern featuring our Fruit Stand fabric collections!  I just had to have this on our Fan Friday Blog.

If you’ve never heard of Sassafras Lane Designs let me just say that they are a great example of Mother-Daughter collaboration.  I know the name is a tongue twister, but it is the street name where their studio is located, where Kristy resides and Shayla was raised.  I love the fact that they are working together to create such nice patterns reflective of the new generation of quilters.  Their patterns are fresh and have lots of color, especially orange!

A lot of their patterns are designed with templates.  You can transfer the templates onto freezer paper and sew by hand or machine.  They even have mini patterns and I might be tempted to make the Mini Canyon Boulevard during my summer holiday using the English Paper Pieceing technique.
