Thankful Thursday: Meadow Mist Designs

October 30th, 2014 by Camelot Fabrics

Hi everyone,

Happy Thursday! We hope everyone is having a lovely day so far. We are hosting another Winsday this week and are giving away our Beyond the Backyard FQB AND 2 Westcott Cutting Tools on our Facebook Page. Be sure to enter if you haven’t yet HERE!

It’s also time for this week’s Thankful Thursday! Today we are featuring one of our incredible pattern designers, Cheryl Brickey of Meadow Mist Designs. Cheryl Brickey is a chemical engineer/patent agent by day and a quilter by night. Quilting and creating patterns involve a lot of technical skill, which in turn was the perfect hobby for Cheryl who also has a passion for sewing and fabrics. As a creative outlet, Cheryl was able to use her technical writing background to create her own quilting patterns as a pattern designer. Cheryl started her pattern company,  Meadow Mist Designs, to sell her patterns on Etsy. Since then, her success in the quilting world has grown immensely. Her quilts have been featured in quilt magazines, blogs, and her patterns are very popular!

We had the privilege of working with Cheryl as one of our pattern designers for our Free Projects Program. Cheryl created the Cracker Lattice Quilt for us, which is a stunning, geometric quilt design that reflects her technical and engineering background perfectly.  This modern quilt pattern features a lovely double lattice design with triangle and diamond elements and its simplicity works so well with a multitude of colors and fabrics, such as our Botanical by Alisse Courter Collection. We absolutely love the versatility of this modern quilt! You can find the pattern for Cracker Lattice here.

We want to thank Cheryl for creating such a stunning quilt design for us, and for the wonderful partnership. We cannot wait for what’s still to come. You can find the free PDF of our Cracker Lattice Quilt on our website. As well, be sure to check out more from Cheryl on her blog, Etsy, and Facebook. Have a great one!

Happy Sewing!
